Went to the local 1/8th mile a while back.
First time on MT ET Street BIAS PLIES.
Ran 16psi in them, dead hooking with a 5k side step off the clutch.
I could smell the clutch after each run.
My question is this:
Is there any merit in upping the pressures until the car actually gets a small...
Just wondering if anyone can tell me how far you need to lower the engine to avoid any trimming of the hood after fitting the Cobra Jet IM?
I presume the liner would still need to be removed?
Anyone done this?
Tried the search function and couldn't really find much on this particular topic.
The question is, which CAI are you guys using with the Cobra Jet IM? How's the fitment?
Anything else I need to know about this?
Thanks guys.
Ok guys, I ordered some MT ET street bias plies from my local tyre place.
I stressed REPEATEDLY that I want bias, not radial (manual).
The tyres turned up, I had a real quick look and it occurred to me that the markings don't seem right.
The sticker says 305/45/17.
Now, far as I can see on...
UPRSteve, I was going to PM you but felt this might actually help other users.
I have what I believe is the original catch can from you guys.
It doesn't appear to have valves or anything else fancy inside, just hangs off the hoses, no remote mount or anything.
Anyways, I removed it to empty...
Hi guys,
I've been running a Lund tune for quite some time now, VERY happy with it.
A mate of mine had his car tuned locally here in Australia, on a dyno, and it can't match the performance, which comes as no surprise to me....
When we pointed this out to the tuner, this is the reply we got -...
A few of you may find some of these tips handy, so I thought I'd share it for the greater good of the forum
After I installed all my bits I had no problems whatsoever. Everything operated as it should, no noises, nothing to complain about....
Recently the car developed a strange sound...
So my car was making this strange noise, kinda sounded like the body was oil-canning or similar. Could mostly hear it at idle because exhaust drowned it at any other time.
With a host of mods under the rear and none of them causing issues on installation, I was struggling for a solution.
The...
I've recently developed a new sound coming from the rear of the car, much more prominent at low (walking) speed. Kinda sounds like it could be a bush grabbing and letting go.
How often do you guys re-grease them?
Specifically I'm looking at the BMR sway bars and Steeda adjustable camber arms...
So guys, I need some help.
I've been to the strip a few times now and both me and the car aren't performing to the best of our abilities...
Local track is 1/8th mile, so I'm aiming to improve that rather than the 1/4.
Best time so far - 8.2, best MPH 93, best 60ft 1.8
None of those have...
Ok so I absolutely detest understeer, lets be clear on that.
Ideally I'd like to end up with a fairly neutral balance, but if I'm going to choose one over the other, I'll take oversteer please.
Rear has to be set at -1.8 degrees for rear tyre clearance to the guard.
Front camber and all toe...
So, today I managed to lose the primary key for the car :headbonk:
Here's the thing. On that particular key ring is the house keys, the work keys (including a swipe card with my name and picture on it) and the garage door remote.
The fact that our keys have a mustang logo on them probably...
Hi guys,
I've got Lund working on a Flex Fuel tune and the Airaid sealed CAI.
John wasn't aware that the Airaid could have the restrictor removed.
If any of you guys have this combo, please PM me your details so I can point John in the right direction.
Any help appreciated.
So, I went out to the local 1/8th mile strip on the weekend, first time ever.
Track and conditions were "terrible" according to the seasoned veterans. Something in the order of a full second off the best it has to offer.
Best I could mange was an 8.5 @ 90MPH, 2.1 60ft (I know right)
Car is...
Over the past week or so I felt that the rear of my car was "moving". What I'm talking about is the subtlest of deflections in the rear end, which is something completely unusual with Steedas LCA bearings and all the rest of the kit fitted to the IRS.
Finally I decided that it was time to have a...
So I toyed with the idea of bags for quite some time, unconvinced by the marketing hype that surrounds the mystery that is "air bags".
Now, a couple of cabs need to get off the rank before I delve too deep into the tech stuff.
Firstly, thanks Peter FIXR7 for giving me the confidence to move...
So, I went and accidentally ordered some Air Lift suspension gear....
Questions for those who're already on it.
1. What is your typical pressure you use for everyday driving?
2. How much do you have to raise or lower the pressure before there's a significant change in the "spring rate"...
So, I ordered some Street Engine mounts from UPRSteve and WOW!
Shipping to Australia was cheap and relatively prompt.
Unfortunately, after I installed them, I realised they'd sent the wrong ones (shit happens). I emailed Steve and he had it sorted within hours. The right parts are on their way...
I thought this might be handy for anyone considering installing headers themselves.
Short version: Just don't do it. Pay someone. Drink beer. Laugh at them. Life is good.
Long version: Whan absolute bitch of a job!
A few points to consider before reading further...
I was doing this with a...
Hi guys, this may seem a stupid question but I've spent a bit of time under the car but mostly looking at the suspension (because mods:headbang:)
I've recently acquired some UPR engine mounts (Steve was great btw) which I'll be fitting at the same time as my LT headers with a view to adding...
