I've had invos for about 14k miles out back. 295/35/20
They handle n/a power but can't launch worth a crap. Wet traction doesn't exist in 2nd gear, cold and wet means you'll spin the top of 3rd. Going to be looking elsewhere when they wear out, I'd stay away for cold weather if I were you
Same theory as lugging a motor. I'd prefer to make the same power with more rpm as its less stress and less time spent under load per revolution. This assuming it's within the rpm limits of the rotating assembly.
I also never ever plan on a motor lasting more than 50k miles, or even 10-20k in...
In passing it looks fine, if you look closely the plastic sheen is a little different.
Autometer uses a single bolt on the top and clips for the bottom, unlike the stock piece using only clips
I used a 2 1/8" autometer gauge in an a pillar pod. Ordered a sandwich plate for $25 with the correct threads and diameter off eBay.
The dash is consistent with the gauge. The start of the green is about 135-140 degrees, vertical on the dash is usually around 175ish.
Highest my digital gauge...
I went pypes catless headers and corsa sport catback. Hated the volume.
Installed a borla pro xs resonated xpipe with venturi cones to go from 2.5" to 3" and a couple vibrant 12" straight through resonators.
Sounds deep and mellow at idle and cruising is very quiet, step on it and it wakes up...
I installed an oil temp gauge in an A pillar pod because I didn't trust the dash display.
Green on the dash starts when oil temp is below 140 degrees. That's still much too low to hammer on a motor. It takes a minimum of 10-15m of driving to get the oil up to 180+ degrees with a reische...
I had a turbo 4cyl 10 years ago that I ran avgas in from a local airport. The lead burned up o2 sensors very quickly and it wasn't worth running when e85 is around for cheaper, cleaner, and better octane
I have a resonated xpipe muffler with corsa touring mufflers and catless headers, plus 4 little bullet resonators.
Not roush mufflers but it sounds great, so I'd imagine the roush equivalent should sound nice. This is my 5th and final exhaust combo
Hill start assist- Make sure the car is in gear with the clutch to the floor before letting off the brake. Hill start assist works in that way on my driveway, which is a very very light incline
As for the transmission, all the hate is hard to comprehend. Like any other, they have their weak...
My clutch chatters from time to time. No particular set of influencing factors. 8k on the odometer... Waiting for it to take a dump so I can replace it
My 2015 focus manual also does, but more frequently with 13k on the clock.
I had a 2015 gt with stock fluid, shifted fine all the time except nibbly when cold, never missed a shift in its 3700 mile lifespan of hard driving.
My 2016 with 8000 miles has been the exact same way with zero missed shifts even above 7500rpm, and I had no complaints but I thought id give...
Did the B&G swap last weekend. I had no complaints about this transmission before the swap after owning a few notchy BMW manuals, it felt like those.
The B&G actually locked me out of 2nd gear on a 35 degree morning yesterday, I was surprised. Seems to work about the same as the stock fluid...
