  1. Forum discount?

Yep, it works. I just used it.
  2. Has Anyone Ever Gotten a Warranty Claim Denied for a Tune?

Say you flash back to stock after an aftermarket tune since you need warranty work. I assume that before you flash your tune, you'd take a backup of your stock tune. Does that backup include the key turns so that if you have to revert to stock, you're not left with 0 key turns? According to the...
  3. Manual Trans fluid: Amsoil MTF = no nibble

Ah so that's how you describe that 1-2 feeling. It feels like I'm jamming something into the synchro which you can feel spinning. I thought it was just me.
  4. Pay for suspension install or buy tools and do it myself?

I think that's the wrong compressor. I used this exact one and didn't have a problem: https://www.autozone.com/loan-a-tools/loaner-strut-spring-compressor I'm with you on the bolts though. I'm going to get some new hardware when I do struts/shocks since I had to beat the crap out of one of the...
  5. Pay for suspension install or buy tools and do it myself?

Not sure where that came from. They say "Unless fasteners are corroded or damaged, do not discard fasteners as shown in pictures." https://performanceparts.ford.com/download/instructionsheets/FORDINSTSHTM-5300-X.PDF
  6. Per Ford (officially) the 2011-2019 F150/Mustang 5.0 “Typewriter Tick” is a normal characteristic

Nope, not that I could find and believe me, I've researched this for a looooonnng time. I had the "tick" which the dealership diagnosed as an out of spec rod bearing and I got a short block out of it. I think actual problems like mine end up getting lumped into the "tick" bucket.

  9. 15-17 47lb injectors and E85

I guess I should rephrase my question a bit. Say on a completely stock car, why do some tuners want bigger injectors yet other tuners say you're fine with the stock injectors?
  10. 15-17 47lb injectors and E85

Why is it that some tuners say you need 47lb injectors but others say you're fine with the stock injectors? Is it the duty cycle?
  11. Stock 2018 GT tune pulling 30.5* of timing on shifts and always logs 2* of knock

Care to share those PIDs pretty please? I've been looking for some, but never could find them.
  12. Stock 2018 GT tune pulling 30.5* of timing on shifts and always logs 2* of knock

How did you get the knock and timing stats to pull in Torque? Are there special PIDs or something? I tried doing this a few months ago, but couldn't get any of those readings to pull through.
  13. Tickford S550 - 536 hp/466 lb/ft....from a tune!

At the crank is believable. At the wheels, not so much.
  14. "yet another BBQ tick" thread - 2017 GT Base

That doesn't sound a whole lot like mine to be honest. If you can feel it then it points to something rattling around. If you're really worried about it, then go to the dealer and tell them to fix it, covered under warranty or not. That way you'll pay if it's something rattling around or they'll...
  15. Voiding your warranty.

From what I had heard, they're looking for ridiculously unreasonable turns, like say you have 50 or so turns with 25,000 miles. That doesn't really add up. I've seen a few cases where people got denied due to tunes on WRX forums. The dealership said they knew that the ECU had been modified...
  16. Voiding your warranty.

The thing I find interesting is on page 17. It basically says the only way they can tell the ECU was modified is based on key turns. I had a WRX before this and it was a hotly debated topic, but my research showed that they went off key turns as well.
  17. "yet another BBQ tick" thread - 2017 GT Base

AC would've been hard to prove so I didn't mention it. I just let the exhaust go. Didn't want to potentially burn a bridge from something relatively minor.
  18. "yet another BBQ tick" thread - 2017 GT Base

Took it in today and turns out the tech forgot to do the crank relearn. Glad it was just that simple. Motors runs pretty good and feels like it has more power. I noticed that I needed way less throttle cruising in 6th on the highway. I wouldn't be surprised if the tick was setting off the knock...
  19. "yet another BBQ tick" thread - 2017 GT Base

I'm leaning towards giving them the benefit of the doubt. I just reviewed all the dash cam footage and the tech treated the car pretty well and did go on a good test drive after the swap. They also ran the motor for around 30 minutes before that so you would've thought he'd have noticed it if it...
  20. "yet another BBQ tick" thread - 2017 GT Base

Got it back today and the check engine light was on. It's throwing P0300, P0302, and P0308 - misfires in cylinders 2 and 8. Along with that, my exhaust tips are all jacked up and sagging and the AC isn't working as well as it used to. I expected to get it back a little messed up, but Jesus, not...
