It's stunning how quickly this issue devolved into demonizing and demagoguery. I thought I tuned into a presidential debate or another damn Ford vs. Chevy slabber-knocker.
IF, and let me repeat, IF it turns out to be accurate (admittedly small data set at this point) that non-TP cars CANNOT...
The half-moons started out as a problem, but I was quickly able to push the splitter and fascia pieces close enough together that installation became a . . . snap. It literally was the difference of a fraction of a mm to make installing those clips possible.
While working behind the wheel...
I decided to tackle the install myself, rather than rely on a dealer tech who may be enthusiastic to work on the only GT350 that's been through the dealership, but probably wouldn't be permitted to spend several hours figuring it out. Plus, I like to be as involved with my cars as I can.
Quick...
This is why it would have been best to allow buyers to mix and match options to dial in precisely what they want: seats they're happy with AND full track capability.
At the moment, there is no suggested or confirmed OE solution for transmission or differential coolers. The Track pack and R transmission cooler setup cannot be used in any case because it is based off an internal pump in the transmission which is reported not to have been included in the base...
There's some truth that people will always champion what they have, and put down what they don't. Human nature . . .
Frankly, I would have preferred if Ford spec'd the packages a bit differently, or at least allowed for more flexibility with specific components. As has been said, there's not...
So, have all the opinions clarified things for you . . .?
It's fair to say that long-term and resale values are one big guess at this point--even looking at the Boss 302 and certain GT500s. There's simply no way to confirm that Tech vs. Track is going to less or more valuable down the road...
I don't want to make assumptions about the skill set being taught or observed in this case, or at what point the instructor is looking for "eyeballs on the apex." But, yes, looking at the apex--particularly while hitting the apex--is not an effective way to drive fast, develop good flow or...
Which organization did you run with the prepared the "report card"? I've filled out plenty of log books, but that's a great way to provide comprehensive, detailed feedback and instruction. If it's Chin, that must be new because I don't recall that approach with any of the Chin events I've run...
The new M3 is an awesome exercise in automotive technology; not so much automotive design. Aficionados will know its an M3; most folks will probably just see it as a BMW with "nice" wheels. Awesome power, awesome seats, blah interior with lots of room. Great handling, but not particularly...
My only comment about the Tech Pack is with respect to being able to tune the balance and fade for sound-centering. I have no idea if signal processing, amps, speakers, etc. are different among the trim levels with radios, and I haven't sat in any other car to know whether you can or cannot...
For those who want truly excellent car-audio performance, the factory system just is not going to cut it. Doesn't matter that this is a unique performance car with its own bespoke audio track (engine + exhaust) that other cars could only dream about. When you want your music to sound great...
