The question of how long an non-Track or R mustang "should" be able to remain on track before it exceeds the Ford-programmed performance limits is a debate with many sides. I do think its fair to say, however, that when a Tech or Base GT350 has to be the first car off the track, most people...
The case is not finned. A poster on SVTPerf did modify his belly pan to fit the 2015-2016 Mustang scoop, but I don't think there's been any follow up reports.
This is a good comparison. Ford's intent was to deliver a world-class platform, not just a really good Mustang. They've succeeded in many respects, but made a critically bad choice in at least this area. Let's hope they support the performance envelope and design a solution so that folks can...
I personally agree that the coolers should have been standard on these cars given their inherent performance potential across all trims; or, at least an obvious, easy and available factory option. The fact that Ford chose to install a different transmission is simply baffling. When you really...
There have been suggestions to consolidate the several threads on this subject, at least in order to avoid duplication, confusion, etc. It will also be helpful to maintain the separate stickied poll thread for reporting instances of limp and associated data points.
So, as a first step to...
Not sure if you're staying on the light side, or moving into sarcasm, but not tracking the car at all is obviously no solution, nor is a 10-minute limit.
This is an understandable but aggressive posture, at the moment.
What will you do when the dealer tells you it can't replicate, diagnose or resolve the "complaint?" How long are you prepared to leave your car at the dealer? You could be our first sit-in protester!
Anyone know if there's additional data from the poster over on S . . . V . . . T Perf . . . who modified his belly pan to install the 2015-2016 transmission air scoop?
Plumbing the transmission cooler is going to be a challenge, and it may require dropping the transmission to install the lines. Even assuming relatively low costs for the parts--external pump, radiator, lines and electric--install labor is going to be the real interesting factor. But, I think...
It's good to see that owners of all models are starting--perhaps grudgingly--to come together, become supportive of each other and get objective about this issue.
Personal viewpoints aside, there's really no logic or real world comparisons that remotely justify a GT350 having to retire within...
That's impressive! I thought the front pads looked a bit thin, but that's pretty good durability after multiple events on a 3700+ lbs car. I suspect effective cooling helps promote their longevity.
Thanks for the experience you keep posting.
I looked around initially, but couldn't find anything definitive. Carbotech may be a good option depending on the compound.
Stock pads are a good quality compound, and seem to handle heat loading relatively well; at least no one has yet reported any real brake fade or glazing issues.
They are...
Those are all good questions, and identify data points that need to be analyzed.
While spending time underneath the car yesterday I saw the very close proximity of the cats to the tranny, and how the exhaust and tranny are pretty well tucked into a likely dead-air pocket created by the deep...
Aw shucks guys, don't make me blush . . .
I'm really trying to understand the pretty strong backlash and almost personal attacks by those who think that Base / Tech car owners (or those who have ordered them) who are voicing their concerns about the growing number of reports are fundamentally...
Even in the small microcosm of this forum there are a growing number of "limp mode" reports. The recently announced information that all 2017 cars will have coolers should clarify what Ford itself intends this car to be, in every form.
Statements that cars sold with non track-focused seats...
Here's the report in another thread. We've got double and triple hearsay, and its unclear whether all the reported limp modes were in track pack cars, but . . .

As a base owner I will only be disappointed when I go...
Sticking my toe back into troubled waters . . .
A very interesting interweb-pseudo-factoid is that--IIRC--3 track pack cars have also gone into limp mode. Wasn't that the report about some cars at Road Atlanta, either earlier in this thread, or the "will Ford make a cooler for my 2016 Tech"...
