  1. GT 350 R WHEELS AND TIRES ADVICE

For track use I'm running Pirelli P Zero racing slicks in a squared setup on Signature wheels with 25mm spacers. The stock Sport Cup 2's are terrific track tires as well, though they probably won't last as long on a track as an R-compound or comparable slick. For street use I'm running...
  2. GT 350 R WHEELS AND TIRES ADVICE

Usually squared setups are so that you can rotate wheels at the track and get more even wear and longer life from your track tires.
  3. Let's get serious about track tires for GT350

The 305's are leftovers from Ferrari Challenge. They are no longer running that size, but I was able to find some from gttrackdays mentioned above. I wonder if the smaller 275/675/19 size would be an option.
  4. Let's get serious about track tires for GT350

They are 305/690/19's. The two tracks I primarily drive on have been repaved within the past 3 years, and one is 2.5 miles and the other a little over 2. And it's usually not as hot here as it is in Texas, Georgia, or Virginia. Those may be factors on the longevity for me, but not sure. They...
  5. Let's get serious about track tires for GT350

Yup, a heat cycle is defined as each time the tires get up to operating temperature
  6. Let's get serious about track tires for GT350

I got 17 heat cycles on my first set of Pirelli Ferrari Challenge slicks before they corded. I'll post how many I get on the current set too.
  7. What did you do to your GT350 today?

what are the odds? Had a great weekend with NASA Rocky Mountain at Pueblo Motorsports Park, where we had 4 GT350R's at the track, and three of them in the same session.
  8. 2019 GT350R - tramlining , any suggestions?

I'm running the Pilot SPort 4S 305/30/19-sized tires on all 4 corners for street use, and the tramlining is gone, even with -2.5 degree camber dialed in.
  9. Serpentine and AC belt fell off during track days, wtf!

HB, Do you have a list of items you check torque specs for?
  10. Why did you sell your GT350?

I have to disagree here. I have a high-hp car (GT350R) that I took to the track and immediately I was doing extremely fast laps with little effort. I have beginning students who drive GT350's, Corvette Z06'es, Porsche Turbos, etc. who are easily doing faster laps by 5-10-second margins per lap...
  11. Why did you sell your GT350?

I guess it's a matter of perspective. My perspective is it's easy to drive a modern Porsche and other high-hp cars with nannies fast on a track-enjoyable, but easy. It makes beginning drivers look good. Driving a 2800 lb 2nd gen Mazda RX7 with a 1.8 liter Miata motor takes a lot of skill to...
  12. Why did you sell your GT350?

I have to disagree that any 2000+ model year Porsche, or any car with more than, say, 250HP and lighter than 3400 lbs is a momentum car. 250 HP is still a lot of power to conceal errors beginning drivers make on the street or on the track. 150 HP is the max based on what I've driven. Opinions...
  13. My First Track Day in the 350

Glad you had a good experience! If you want to take it to the next level and continue to develop your driving skills, I recommend you attend an event at NOLA that offers in-car instruction. NASA, PCA, and BMWCCA all have chapters at NOLA. https://nolamotor.com/nasa-racing-2/...
  14. Firemission: contact Michelin to ask for PS4S in GT350 sizes

I'm running the Pilot 4S 305/30/19 tires on my R on all 4 corners (stock wheels) with no issues. I've not seen a big difference re: more contact/rubbing on the front splitter. You should be able to do the same on the non-R if you are not concerned about an exact match.
  15. What did you do to your GT350 today?

Went out to High Plains Raceway in Colorado for a Shelby Club event, got a personal best lap time, and then noticed an engine oil leak. No dealerships are available until a week from Tuesday.
  16. What did you do to your GT350 today?

Had camber plates and bolts installed. I also Installed Caliperfexion caliper studs (thanks Tobe!), GLOC brake pads, and a Ford Performance air filter. I finally got some slicks installed on Signature SV901 wheels (thanks Terrance!) and had an opportunity to shake the car down with the new...
  17. GT350 OEM, Aftermarket and Maintenance Parts/Tools to Make Life Easier

New part number for rear brake caliper bolts: W719117-S439 I am still getting conflicting information on whether or not these are single-use. Two dealerships have told me they re-use and loc-tite the existing bolts. Does anyone have anything official from Ford from a service manual or other...
  18. Great Dealer Service Experience

Thanks, hope to see you out at the track some time, PM me if you are interested.
  19. Great Dealer Service Experience

Which dealership if you don't mind me asking?
  20. Fully disable all nannies via the jumper in the engine bay?

Yup, specifically exit at turn 7 and turn 8. One of the great characteristics of this car is how well it plants under throttle on corner exit, but I felt the TC braking as I tried to rotate the car a little bit under throttle on turn 7. Turn 10 I tiptoe through anyway, as I'm not willing to...
