Gibsons claims are Horse poop :)... That being said I have a Gibson cat-back on my car and I did gain HP over stock... I gained close to 7 peak HP and as much as 11 / 12 HP & TQ in certain areas of the HP curve... I did however lose some low end tq and hp but not a ton.
Real results before and...
There are some key differences that make it so the Mustang rear tires are spinning faster then a 5th Gen Camaros... mainly the rev limiter on both cars I know my car after being tuned is cutting out around 7600 rpms and in 5th gear on the Dyno the mph reaches about 164... and I have 3:73...
Currently my tuner is Lund.
yeah I don't think there would be a downside I would assume it would make more power especially in the upper rpm ranges.. my only worry would be maybe some tuning drivability issues.
Is anyone doing this yet? I have been thinking about going FI but I have the GT350 intake and TB and been having a few tuning issues NA not sure what others thoughts are on add a supercharger to this... I will also be running catted long tubes.
I figured I'd see what others thought before...
Yeah right now my car is also surging a bit under non WOT throttle but seems pretty good at WOT.
I did dyno the car right after the install on the very first base tune and put down 422 rwhp and 361 rwtq peak but that was on 93 octane and the tune was obviously off and I have not had a chance...
Same here I don't have headers yet but those will going on soon enough... I will be going with Stainless works or power just depends on the budget lol... I think 465 - 475 rwhp is reachable but who knows...
I am about to install the GT350 intake manifold and tb and went ahead a picked up the 47lb injectors since I will be mostly running E85... I was just informed by Lund Racing that they are close to have a tune for this setup ready for me...
Looking forward to testing out the new mods and tune...
I got mine from MMR but after ordering mine I saw it for less here http://www.levittownfordsupercenter.com/ford-racing-mustang-gt350-intake-87mm-throttle-body-p-4650.html
I currently have a tune from Lund so I am going to stick with them for tuning.
I don't think those mods would be good for 500 maybe 465 -470... now add some Comp Stage 3 cams and you should be knocking on the 500 whp door...
I will be installing a GT350 intake and TB with 47lb injectors soon... once that is done I will be picking up long tubes and I will be very happy if...
I actually did the same install today on my 2016 Mustang GT didn't have that issue at all everything went together really easy and lined up as good as I was hoping for.
Yeah I would say keep the stock catback and do headers that would give you the best bang for the buck if noise is the issue. I would of course do all the other things like GT350 intake manifold and throttle body with custom tune and I would think the car would be making good power 460 plus wheel...
I am currently running just a catback, air raid CAI and Lund flexfuel tune and do sometimes run E85...
I have new mods coming (GT350 Intake mainfold and throttle body). I will be using a new updated flexfuel tune as well... the question is do I need to get bigger injectors and if so what...
