Is the zip tie part like a standard zip tie? I've had luck in the past using a small flathead screwdriver to gently lift the little tab that locks the zip tie closed. Didn't know if that would help so you could loosen the zip tie and slide it where you needed, then tighten it up again.

Good find. No slippage? Torque specs on filter are 17 ft-lbs or 23 n-m which would explain why they seem pretty tight. Probably for vibration resistance.

I did see this mentioned somewhere else. Fix is to turn the wipers on, then turn the car off while they are straight up and down on the windshield. That allows you to raise them for cleaning or changing. edit:http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48658
