Only thing I can think of for the delayed release is that everyone else showed their cards last week, weekend and today for the auto show. Whatever they show to the media tomorrow will be the only fresh news next week when embargo lifts.
Likewise, I can only imagine it'd have to be something...
So could all the previous talk about an AWD Mustang end up being true? With this setup, they could go for the gas engine powering the rear wheels and electric motors for the front.
This has been on the Ford site since the 2014 GT500. You can also find a 2017 Boss 302 in the code too (search for "site:ford.com 2017 boss 302"). There was another thread last year about the same thing when the 2016 model was new, since you could find the "2016 GT500" at the time.

I wonder if this would be at the pricepoint of the Boss 302, or if it'd serve as a replacement to the GT500. I can see it going either way.
As long as it isn't the pricepoint of the Ford GT, which is along the lines of the current value of the original Boss 429 :)
I believe the fine print of the sweepstakes said they're selecting a winner on November 14 around 4pm EST, which is in 2 minutes. Not sure how soon after they'll contact the winner.
Since they sent an email confirmation when you entered, I can see that I entered every week except once. Which...
I don't doubt the motor is capable of making a crazy amount of horsepower, but that doesn't mean it'll all make it to the final production model.
The dyno-breaking amount alludes to a twin turbo V8 though (however/wherever the turbos are paired).
Let's breakdown the possibilities:
Shelby already has a "GT Ecoboost" based off the of the Mustang Ecoboost, so if the "E" is for Ecoboost, it'd be based off a V6/V8. There's a premium rear valence in the pictures and the V6 coupe doesn't have that (plus is short on features overall anyway)...
I wouldn't mind a twin turbo v6 in the mustang, just not as the GT500. Moving to a turbo-4, TT V6, V8 GT lineup would be a good balance between enthusiasts, ecoboost marketing and cafe standards.
In addition to the above comments about the spy pics, the fact that it was very very rare to get a gt350 without adm also tells Ford how much of a demand there was. It'd be a poor business discussion to not continue to capitalize on the demand...
... Unless of course we get another specialty...
