If the damage is hard enough to see in a picture I wouldnāt be worried about a non ford shop fixing it. Nothing proprietary about fixing dents and painting.
@StangTime Thanks again for your previous reply. I got the trim piece removed and was definitely surprised at how solid it looked behind there.
When you trimmed out a hole for your wiring was there anything to be careful of behind that area?
Also a little curious of how you fished your wire...
Man I took that piece off today and had no idea it was solid plastic behind it. Shoot. So itās either a lot of dremeling or surface mount it. I did make some cool replacements on the printer though.
Actually doing a high mount(near the top of the widhshield on top of mirror) with a concealed display in the front Under the switches. The blend mount makes the detector too obvious for my tastes.
I know this is super old, but were you indeed able to simply pry this piece off? I am doing a concealed radar detector install and this is a prime location for the display.
