  1. Driving in manual mode

The tranny will not let you downshift resulting in RPMs above redline in any mode. It simply won’t allow the shift.
  2. Driving in manual mode

The DCT is a different animal. Tom is correct, the tranny will downshift when slowing even while locked in M.
  3. Driving in manual mode

I have done three “pro rides” at track attacks/track tours and the pros were all letting the car shift. I asked at the first event I attended and the pro driver said he cannot out-shift the car’s programmed logic. Valid point regarding the raised rev limiter... if you want to shift north of...
  4. Driving in manual mode

Yes, there are protections built into the manual shift logic Tom. It will not let you downshift if the resulting RPM will be above redline. My “tranny technique” is to only select manual mode when cruising (not performance driving). If you are trying to max perform the car, leaving it in auto...

  6. A piece of masking tape next to chassis plate

For those of you that like to keep stuff like this, have a look under the back of your car. I found this cool little assembly line Easter egg on my CFTP:

Do it yourself and prevent scrapes, marks & marring. Here is your guide:
  8. 2020+ Shelby GT500 Track Attack 2.0! (video)

There were areas of the track that I was max performing the car on the 4S tires. I was sliding in some of the turns and the rear kicked out more than once. As for max speeds on the fast section... it’s quite possible my lead instructor was allowing us to run faster. He kept saying we were doing...
  9. 2020+ Shelby GT500 Track Attack 2.0! (video)

^^^Yes... this! All the cars at the Track Attack are base + handling package, which come with the 4S tires. This is different than the North American Track Tour (traveling), where you drive CFTP cars on the road course and base cars at the drag strip.
  10. 2020+ Shelby GT500 Track Attack 2.0! (video)

I floored my car in spurts quite often on the Roval with the longest stretch being coming out of turn N2. It’s the only reason I hit 135 in that stretch.
  11. 2020+ Shelby GT500 Track Attack 2.0! (video)

    Thank you very kindly!
  12. 2020+ Shelby GT500 Track Attack 2.0! (video)

Check the weather before you go. You will most likely be warm regardless... you are wearing a head sleeve, helmet and racing suit. The AC is to be off when at the strip (can be on at the Roval). I also wore a T-shirt and shorts. The first time I went, I wore jeans (too warm). The only...
  13. 2020+ Shelby GT500 Track Attack 2.0! (video)

Thanks Dave! Most would never notice. This video took countless hours over two full weeks of editing. I sat in a hotel all last weekend on a layover getting the bulk of it done. I then had Race Keeper tech issues that took days to solve. In the end, I was happy with the video. It’s nice to get...
  14. 2020+ Shelby GT500 Track Attack 2.0! (video)

I much prefer the road course as well, but I thought this format was a good balance between the car’s two dominating race capabilities... all morning at the strip and all afternoon on the Roval. I’m sure there are drag racers that would have wanted more passes vs. time spent turning. As for...
  15. 2020+ Shelby GT500 Track Attack 2.0! (video)

The school puts the last names of the drivers on each car. No need for me to share my personal contact info for everyone across the web. I had to learn how to do that in iMovie for this video.
  16. 2020+ Shelby GT500 Track Attack 2.0! (video)

Thanks Donnie... it was a blast! Yes, it was nice to hear the feedback on the first video I did back in the spring. Hopefully this video gens up some more action for them. No need for water. They have bottled water everywhere. If you want to throw a couple snacks in the car, that will work...
  17. 2020+ Shelby GT500 Track Attack 2.0! (video)

After two weeks of editing, I present a full-day of fun at the drag strip and “Roval” (road course + NASCAR oval). You will see 2020 GT500s in head-to-head drag race action as well as ripping around the Roval! This is the free of charge “owner’s experience” people can attend in their 1st year...

    Here you go:
  19. CFTP wing mount water leakage

I skinned this cat slightly differently. Whichever way one chooses to solve this problem, painting the raw steel holes and sealing out the water are a good idea to prevent future corrosion issues.
  20. CFTP wing mount water leakage

I was thinking it was open-cell, like a neoprene wetsuit, which absorbs water.
