When I talked to David a little bit ago he mentioned they have not installed the on a convertible. Seems odd that I'd be the first convertible to install one one these.
Based on the comments here and talking with David and Patrick from Steeda it seems that the front of the frame is a little different on the convertibles. Everything lines up but the front hole is NOT treated like the coupes. So, to be safe I think I will have the weld the front on so I don't...
I don't have any pictures unfortunately. I had it done at a local shop and I was holding up other scheduled work since we had to work thought this issue. (In hindsight, not taking pics was a mistake!)
From the bottom it looks the same once installed. Just like @Cloak's pics above. The hole...
Thanks! Yep, the parts you got are the exact same ones I got. Did you do the install yourself? Were the threaded holes more substantial (bigger, longer, etc.) that what I got by throwing a bolt on top of the frame?
Hmmm. That's kinda my fear but I would have thought Steeda would have test fit a convertible.
It is threaded with a nut welded to the top of the frame or something more substantial? I'm wondering if the front bolts are doing any good the way mine are now since it is just a washer and nut on top.
So my Steeda Extreme G-Trac came in the mail yesterday. The hardware was loose in the box, which wasn't sealed, so I'm certain some parts fell out.
In the box were 4 bolts, 2 nuts and 1 washer. I called Steeda and the guy I talked to on the phone said that all I was missing was 1 washer. (He...
Looks awesome on the red! Mine is magnetic so I'm not sure how the carbon fiber will look. I thing it won't pop as much on mine. You'd looks great though. Great job!
Let us know how it turns out. I've got the same concern so I might do the same thing if you are happy and the real thing looks as good as the PhotoShop.
I was a bit hesitant on the sealed box as well. But, then I saw a few videos on the amount of water that comes in the hood vents. In one video I saw, the filter was absolutely soaked. Granted, they were testing worst case conditions. It was enough to sway me toward a sealed box vs an open one...
Hmmm. That's odd. Perhaps there there is something different when the top is up vs when the top is down. Or perhaps the convertibles just don't have the same sensors, which would be a big disappointment.
I'd love more details as well.
As test, I locked the car yesterday with the convertible top down and windows down. The setting was for All Sensors. Then with the keys a long way away from the car I reached into the car like someone would if there were going to steal something. No alarm! I...
Thanks! Your 30 day thread along with a lot of comments from others is a big reason I'm looking at a complete Steeda setup. Your comments have been very helpful!
All the reviews I've read are from those upgrading the performance package, the big improvements and bouncy ride it fixed. I don't...
