  1. Precision-Turbonetics NX2 turbo EcoBoost build thread

no its still on the stock sensor, it seems like the ECU makes all the calculations based on TIP sensor and not the MAP as the stock map sensor only goes up to 255kpa only
  2. Precision-Turbonetics NX2 turbo EcoBoost build thread

Did some work this weekend, the car is a a6 2015, obb intake and itecooler, o/r downpipe, borla noisiest exhaust and 50/50 water/meth, all on 100octane fuel it was 428whp @ 31 psi, couldnt get torque readings but it should be around 450 at the wheels
  3. 2018 ECOBOOST TRACK TIMES

Ecoboost engines are high torque engines, you need drag radials to really take advantage of that
  4. DIY Tuning! What are the advantages or cons of HP Tuners or SCT?

Ford uses a active knock strategy, that means in low noise conditions it will actually advance timing on its own, so it will give you a good idea on what direction to go, i usually dont do much changing in the low load parts as i have no way to test if there is any improvement there. High load...
  5. DIY Tuning! What are the advantages or cons of HP Tuners or SCT?

In the hp tuners forums you will find two groups of people, the DIY guys that dont mind sharing their tunes, and the pro guys that make a living from tunes, those guys wont usually share their tunes, but they do check your tunes out and point you on where to fix your problems, they also are the...
  6. DIY Tuning! What are the advantages or cons of HP Tuners or SCT?

I personally bought LaSotas cookbook and it was great on the basics, the other stuff i learned from the forums and working on the cars itself, transmission tuning is not really explained on the cookbook, but there are some great threads about it on the forum
  7. DIY Tuning! What are the advantages or cons of HP Tuners or SCT?

I have never worked with SCT, but the main advantage i see it having over HP tuners is that SCT is more remote tuner friendly, after that i find that the process of doing a custom tune is kind of cumbersome having to mod your program on pc then uploading it to the handheld and then to the car...
  8. Who Tunes your 5.0? And Why?

i haven't logged a pp car, but i have compared the stage 2 and 3 tunes to stock and i find they are really aggressive with spark timing, i wouldn't run them on anything other than 93 octane. Also, i have never see any gains from changing the stock throttle for the gt350
  9. Who Tunes your 5.0? And Why?

Tuners do not need to go through the 2400 cells as car with intake and headers dont need such large revisions, Ford itself does not go into changing the whole tune, they just change what is needed for the car to work properly, as a matter of fact ford in the frpp stage 3 does things that i dont...
  10. Please Suggest Some Power Mods

Dont waste your money on intakes, intercooler and a good tune with good octane fuel will give you most of the power the stock turbo can give, after that a catless downnpipe and a cutout will let you take the last bit.
  11. P0234 Turbocharger / Supercharger "A" Overboost Condition Code

Lund is not the only one who uses ngauge, depending on the tuning tool of each tuner they will ask you to buy one for remote tuning (hp tuners uses ngauge, cobb uses the accesport and sct uses the x4 thing) if you can find a competent tuner thats local to you and works with hp tuners you dont...
  12. Who Tunes your 5.0? And Why?

You have to remember that any aftermarket tune uses the stock calibration from ford as a base and keeps all those systems there unless you get some butchered tune, so if you get bad quality fuel the octane learning system will still work, so even if you are on the ragged edge for 93 bolt on cars...
  13. P0234 Turbocharger / Supercharger "A" Overboost Condition Code

The tune part can be fixed by any competent tuner, you can unmarry the sct and sell it, and go either cobb or ngauge, you can find competent tuners that works on any of those. the coolant part is mechanical and i cant suggest any place as i don't live in the us, but it doesn't sound like...
  14. P0234 Turbocharger / Supercharger "A" Overboost Condition Code

This usually happens when the throttle closes to control boost the throttle inlet pressure exceeds what the sensor can read and it goes into protection mode. He can do one of two things request more load so the throttle never closes or he can turn boost down, im not familiar with sct but on hp...
  15. P0234 Turbocharger / Supercharger "A" Overboost Condition Code

tuner needs to correct this, send him a datalog and a explanation of what is happening and they should be able to fix it
  16. Transbrake setup on a 6r80 ecoboost?

Im tuning on hp tuners so no cobb Tb, has anyone done a transbrake setup on a ecoboost mustang with the 6r80 using relays or the jms trans brake?
  17. Precision-Turbonetics NX2 turbo EcoBoost build thread

You have to remember that by 3300rpm you are on full boost, at that point your throttle and wastegate are controlling the turbo speed so it maintains requested load, so freeing the exhaust will not make more power since you will be limited by the tune to the same load, what you will get is...
