Can you feel it in the floor near your feet? Mine is making a thump type noise on decel, typically on the gear change. Occasional can hear on accel as well. Dealer is saying it's the lack of grease around the seal where the output shaft comes out of the back of the transmission.

I actually pulled the belly pan, cleaned everything, and changed the filter since the dealer didn't do any of that. Today or tomorrow I'll reinspect as the oil started at the front corner near the filter.

Yeah, I'd pull the rear wheels and put a socket on it and see if they are tight.

On my phone yours sounds more like the rear axle nuts that others have complained about. Mine you feel and hear it on deceleration. It’s more of a hollow “thump” on my car.

I am using the OE plug, initially I thought that might be what it was, but oil is on the side of the pan and above the plug. Since the oil level hasn’t changed since I first noticed it and the dealer didn’t clean it, I’m going to pull the belly pan, clean it and see if it comes back.

Tried to convince him he needed the wagon. I was in the Netherlands for work and saw one. It was so cool looking. Oh I guess we were supposed to be talking S650...its okay, but not a fan that the side looks really flat to me. The S550 side body lines are sexy.

Just so no one get the wrong idea, his M5 cost twice as much as my Mach 1. He didn't even get the carbon brakes...cheap ass. Just kidding his M5 is an amazing car.

My brother is a BMW guy, so I've been around them a little. He has new M5, and it screams! But almost twice the price as my M1. Should have studied more instead of chasing girls apparently.
