It's probably nearly 8 years now, but I used: http://www.weshipyourcar.com/ (Nationwide Auto Transport).
When i did it, those guys take a flat fee ($150) & the rest is paid to the driver. licensed, bonded, kept me up to date w/ where the car was, etc.
Mine was $1850 total because I wanted...
For Track stuff, I recommend starting out w/ autocross first. The skills from there transfer over nicely to track. Speedventures run autocross w/ their track days when they run at Fontana. SCCA runs monthly & there is a large number of american muscle cars that run w/ SCCA now. They also have...
Not tire decals, but have you thought of getting tire markers? I got some off amazon for like a few dollars & they've lasted pretty decently (used on race tires). Takes about 2 pens for a set of 4 tires.
Mine went out, too. Took it to my local dealership, they test & warrantied it no problem. They also kept it overnight to test for any drains (there were none) just in case it was something else killing the battery.
There's also the wind restrictor (plexiglass) option. They don't come w/ the piece over the the back seat, but can still fit passengers in the back. I think it's a good trade-off for a little more relative convenience. Deflectors are also great for when you have passengers (or if you yourself)...
I didn't check mine w/ a hydrometer, but I had to add distilled water to mine just so it would hold a charge/accept a charge (was super low). Battery sat for about 3 weeks, totally dead. Of course, I typically only drive the car once a week for the last year and a half - that may have a huge...
So last year, there was only the blue coupe/fastback available. I used a dremel & some touch-up paint to make it match my convertible :).
This year, my baby brother found me an official one, woo hoo!
Just don't drive in 2nd gear at highway speeds or crazy downshifts in front of cops & you'll be fine, haha. The Touring exhaust is very quiet at cruising and light driving (I have the Sport one). Domestic cars generally don't get profiled for exhaust tickets.
You heard a clanking type noise when it happened, but not while driving now rite (assuming from dealership not hearing the noise)? Does it actually have any bad behavior w/ normal driving?
Just put it on jackstands yourself & look at all the components, though I'm guessing the dealership has...
You can do SV ^^^ or SCCA (Cal Club) autox: http://solo2.com/.
SV is nice if you just want to show up, run, and go home whenever. Courses are quite a bit smaller, but is good for a casual introduction to autox.
Next SCCA one is 9/24 & 9/25, which are open for registration right now. There's a...
