Update on the stealthbox....Local stereo shop got it working. They used a LOC. Not sure what brand. When i asked him about it, he said my wiring was for a 2022 (my build date was 11/21) and its different than the 21's. When i got home and took off his tape it looked like the exact same wires to...
Okay just to be clear I plugged them in the correct (input) female ends of the amp. Moved them to the preouts out of sheer frustration and the rear speakers stopped working. Moved them back to the correct connection and they came back. So ur saying my ground on the amp isn’t good?
Sound does come from the rear speakers. And I know they’re connected correctly because when I put rcas in the in preouts plug (just for fun) they shut off. I took the sub box to a stereo shop today and finally heard sound from it. They were busy so I scheduled to go back Wednesday for them to...
Its official, I failed at this. No idea why im not getting any sound from the sub. Ive double, triple checked every connection. Moved the ground wire to what seems to be a good location. Took a wire from the negative on battery and used a multimeter to test the ground. Measured .001ohm. Tested...
Yes, on that connection I put a pretty good length of exposed wire in the eye type opening and screwed the top down. It does look like that tho lol. I was pretty impressed at my wire cutting and connections. I went over all of them before I posted cuz I knew that’s the first thing would be...
Now that It appears the sub can at least make some noise I’m gonna move the ground. I fashioned a bolt on the sheet metal behind that rear truck panel. I sanded off the paint but still might not be good enough. I’ll try that bolt in between the rear seat. Unless u think it could be something else?
I’ve got a multimeter at work. Will that do?
I’ll do the 9v battery test. Is it what it think it is and put the sub wires on the battery connects? Does it make a noise?
Sub not working! I double checked all connections. Used posi tap connectors to get the signal...

The amp seems to be working fine. Just ZERO sound from the sub. My only guess is that the sub is bad. I bought it used from ABT.COM. It...
Looked under the rear speakers for the first time last night. Just got my Mustang 2 wks ago. The speaker connection to the car is just some wires soldered onto a connection stem. Is it a good idea to carefully solder my amp RCA wires onto those stems as well? Saves from cutting into any wires.
I’m about to find out this weekend. Tapping into the rear speaker wires with RCA in-line conversion wires for JL 500/1 amp with high voltage input switch for automatic signal turn on. My only question is, once I dig thru the wire bundle and find the + & - for both speakers do I cut and splice...
When taping the rear speaker to get the signal for my sub/amp install, Im only needing 1- pair of line conversion RCA connectors? 1 line used for positive and the other for negative? What gauge speaker wire would u recommend for the amp to sub connection? Its JK 500/1 and and JL stealthbox. Thanks
I got mine last week. Shipping was lightning fast! Im waiting until my Mustang is over 1k miles before install. Ive used several different throttle boosters on vehicles over the years. Most recently pedal commander for my RAM1500. Its always been dollar for dollar the best mod you could do IMO...
Good, seems like we did alright. Im getting all the supplies for a sub/amp install too. From the info in this thread and some others I think I can get it done. Ive bought a used JL stealthbox and new JL 500/1 amp. Plan on getting the signal from the rear speaker using posi tap connectors with JL...
This is what it looked like for me changing the ACM setting with Forscan on my 2021. As you can see its very similar to other years. Thank goodness because I was very worried. I couldn't find a post or video with the 2021 EQ change process. The first four digits were 0100.... I changed it to...
