Are you guys unplugging/plugging-in this connector with the engine running? I always do it with the car shut off, just because if there’s communication happening (power flowing) through this connector then I don’t want to risk it unnecessarily.
Two-day Autocross last weekend, and the first event I used the “unplug” method for TC/STM. Pulled the plug first thing Saturday morning during tech and at startup I got the familiar lights indicating those systems were off. Ran all day with no issues at all. Parked the car overnight, came back...
Not at all. In fact the greatest thing about the ARP studs in front with a slide on 20-25mm spacer is that even your narrow wheel/tire setups can be used the same way as for your wide setup.
So when it comes time to switch, take off your 11” wheels, leave the spacer in place, and bolt up your...
dharts9 - You were absolutely correct to come here to the forum for more specific advice on what REALLY works and what doesn't on this car. @Norm is exactly right too, the wheel/tire shops are very conservative and they don't want to push the envelope to the far reaches because most of the time...
What do you mean the manufacturers are steering you to 285? ......steer the other way!
If you’re going with 11” wide wheels, the 295 (or larger) tires will be a perfect fit. The 285’s are a frequently suggested setup because they work for the 95% of guys who want a bolt-on solution that just...
The GM folks who disable that lockout don’t do it because they shift sequentially 100% of the time, they disable it because they want control of their car. Period.
The car already allows sequential shifts if driven to parameters GM considers “sporting” but who the heck wants to worry about how...
To more accurately define this term, when we say “Rev Hang” it does not mean that the revs stay right where they were the moment you push the clutch pedal to perform a shift....instead, the revs drop to a CALCULATED rpm which the car expects to be at when the immediate next higher gear is...
@Super Werty the photo link is broken, so I'm not sure what items were pictured, but does this include the ARP bolt and/or MMR support washer or anything else? Or is it just the TSS OPG and MMR Sprocket? If it's just the gear/sprocket only, the price seems to have dropped from $675 when you...
Thanks @TigerFire13
Yes it’s true I am running 19x11 +50 squared, with 305/35R19 Nitto G2s. The 35 aspect ratio is important to note (because most guys run 305/30), and to be clear yes the 305/35 do fit fine. There is no interference with any hard parts, and strut clearances are fine even with...
A. Power would help of course, but what about your tune (do you currently have one?) What is your current redline RPM? Do you find yourself hitting the limiter much? What about rear-end gear ratio?
B. Weight loss is like adding power. Take out the things you listed, and anything else not needed...
Thanks for the update! Looks like it’s holding up well.
Nice driving there at Bristol. Since you said the trace wasn’t working properly anyway, what’s the redline set to with your CRT Tune?
Interested in backspacing for the rear also as it will help figure out front. Yes I know “BURN THE WITCH!” we cannot fit 12” wheels up front... but consider the following:
Offset struts or coilovers with a smaller OD body
Fenders spaced out or wider fenders
Fender flares if desired
Minimal...
Interested in going 3.55 for Autocross purposes in my 17 GTPP but not crazy about losing the Torsen for the TracLoc.
Why are you selling? 10 miles of use sounds like a lot of work to install/uninstall a diff over.
What options are available for a 12" wide wheel for the S550 platform? The goal here is to run the larger tire sizes (305 primarily, possibly 315/325/335) with more sidewall support than can be had with the more common 11" wide wheels. I have two different sets of 305's mounted on 11's now and...
SteedaTech
I installed the tension link bearings (555-4128) (AKA radius arms/front control arms) by pressing the old rubber bushings out and pressing the HUGE bearings into my stock arms. I also replaced my lateral links (rear control arms) with the Steeda roll-center corrected arms...
For sale: full set of four Nitto NT555 G2 in 305/35R19. All four tires are the same size, for a perfect squared setup and balance, and these are 35 series aspect ratio which are much closer to stock heights than the 30 series (1.1% difference in diameter compared to stock. Speedometer doesn't...
Boardkat - What do you mean by the RE71Rs not being a good match for your driving style? I realize they’re not as wide, but what do the BFG’s offer that the Bridgestones do not (compound/tread/wear?) ?
