I was very fortunate to find a pre-owned 2018 Mustang GT Premium (9K miles) with Performance Pack 1, Magneride, Active Exhaust, the 12" inch gauge cluster and a Roush 2650 supercharger. Catalytic converter failure can be a problem with the Stage 1 SC. Because I live up north in North Dakota...
i really like my Borla S Type catback exhaust, The rolled 4" dual tips look awesome. I also have the Active Exhaust feture. In quiet mode, the exhaust tone is very tolerable. Flip on Performance mode and all HELL breaks loose!
Accident situations as yours, Free Spirit really test one's fortitude. Let me share my experience below:
I am insured by American Family Insurance (AMFAM) for 30 years plus. AMFAM has always treated me very well in accident incidents, whether my fault or the other driver's fault. Although AMFAM...
My 2018 Mustang GT premium (18000 miles) with magneride, PP1, and a Borla active exhaust system has a dealer installed Roush Phase I (R2650) supercharger with a 10 speed automatic and Pirelli p Zero Nero 275-19 rear tires. No idea of the actual horsepower rating as I haven't had it dynoed. IMO...
Cobra Jet, I also warn new owners of these powerful Mustangs to use extreme caution in cool/cold weather, rain, snow or icy conditions. I have experienced the tail coming around 180 degrees on a rain slicked overpass and hit the ditch sliding sideways, it was a wild ride!
Luckily I had no body...
Thank you for the weblink, LOL WUT! I am preparing for another stock catylyst failure for next spring. Car is parked away for the northern winter. It is -7 degrees below zero Fahrenheit here in North Dakota this morning.
Thank you EngineermIke. Are the GT 500 Cats sold seperately or do you need to cut them off the exhaust connection pipe and weld them to the 5.0 exhaust connection pipe in place of the stock catalysts?
I have a Borla S type active exhaust cat back system with stock exhaust manifolds and catalysts on a 2018 Mustang GT Premium. The exhaust tone in quiet mode is acceptable. When driving even in sport mode there is no drone and the sound system is not overwelmed while driving at highway speeds.
My 2018 Mustang GT Premium Performance Package 1 (Roush 2650 supercharger) even with new Pirelli P Zero Nero all season tires is not safe to drive below 45 degrees, in rainy, snowy, or icy conditions. If you live up north like me, leave the car in the garage over late fall, early spring until...
Has anyone had experience with the Texas Speed catted header setup?
https://www.texas-speed.com/p-10490-tsp-2015-mustang-50l-gt-headers-and-catted-connection-pipes.aspx
The pricing is comperable to a used GT 500 setup.
I saw 3 complete GT 500 exhaust manifolds with factory catalytic converors and front exhaust pipes for a 5.2. Can these be adapted to a Borla aftermarket active exhaust cat back system on my 2018 GT. Will the exhaust manifolds bolt to the 5.0?
You are correct, engineermike. I haven'y yet had issues with the driver's side catalyst. I have seen in posts, the drivers side usually fails first. The service history of my Mustang GT hasn't indicated the driver'e side catalyst has been replaced under factory emissions warranty.
I just had the passenger side catalytic convertor replaced (11-19-2024) on my 2018 Mustang GT Premium (with a Dealer installed Roush R2650 supercharger in 2018) with factory active exhaust and a Borla Catback exhaust under the Ford emissions warranty. The vehicle had only 17017 miles. The car...
I am also new to the forum. I own a 2018 Mustang GT (17017 miles) with a dealer installed Roush Phase I supercharger kit wih the TVS R2650 blower unit.
Orange Fury Metallic. Performance Pack 1, MagnaRide, Active Exhaust.
