I just got an 19 with 401a, 10 speed and B&O (no Manga or Active Exhaust). MSRP was $47k and after Costco and rebates we were at $43k. No taxes but made them included fees, etc. at that price. I don't think you're far off. It was a custom order (only 4 months!).

I'm not disagreeing with you that he's making a very general and possibly incorrect statement.
In the end he's just stating his opinion and you may be correct in your assumption about material properties. But without a material analysis and testing I wouldn't rush to say that either party is wrong.
Did you get the car yet? You have to be very, very adamant that they don't drill the front bumper. Even if they tell you they never drill the Mustangs still tell them.
