I don't think ford would have included a larger TB in the performance pack 2 calibration if it didn't help, at least somewhat. That being said, lots of tuners have a hard time dialing in the throttle bodies correctly because unless you got a ford unit (You didn't specify) then the values are...
I would like to add a few engines to my list. Now these are what I'm going to call "regular" awesome engines that I have not owned. Regular as in below $100k
1. My buddy's Lotus Exige S engine. It's a toyota mill with a supercharger on it tuned by Lotus. Yes, it loves to rev, and yes it...
The qualifier "You have owned" limits my responses here, but these are the ones I've owned:
1. Coyote. 32v cammer that is a screamer, rare for domestic engines.
2. BMW N54. Definitely had it's share of problems, but when tuned, it ran awfully nice for a 3L engine.
2. Dodge 2.4L Turbo...
I actually got a Quick Jack that I use with wood blocks I made, so I don't use the adapter any more. The one I have has a nylon coating on the bottom so it doesn't scratch unless it rotates when you lift it. I can tell you the magnets work - I drove to work one day and realized I had left it...
Used cars are king because most of the cars we like have terrible residual. I believe all of these are less than a new Mustang GT:
Pure unadulterated track toy: Lotus Elise/Exige S
Barely livable "summer" daily driver: 3rd/4th Gen Viper
More luxury, but still fairly sporty: Cadilliac CTS-V...
Don't drive it as is, unless you want to fix the problem by getting a new oil pan, attached to a new engine :)
Best fix - new oil pan
Next best fix - tap for a bigger drain plug
least acceptable - self-tapping oversized plug. The only bad thing about them is that every time you loosen/tighten...
I got some aluminum jack pads like above from Amazon. I don't know the exchange rate, nor what products cost in Belgium, but I found this on Amazon.de...
Small update on mine. The leak fix so far is still working. It was 107 out the other day and with the car just idling in the driveway, it got down to 50 degrees leaving the vents. On days in the 90's, it got down to about 41 degrees (Again, at idle).
So the dealership sold you a car that does not meet federal emission rules? That is a HUGE fine and highly illegal. You probably won't get your tune from them, but I bet if you approach it from the emissions standpoint, you might be able to (at minimum) get some cats welded on, which would...
You may want to try a good stop leak like this. If you have a slow leak (Small hole) this works pretty well - check the reviews. I used this for mine a few days ago and it is still holding. Not as good as replacing the evap, but it's about $2000 cheaper.
This stuff is a lot better than the...
I think there are probably a dozen ways to compare engines, I would argue the total BMEP under the curve, which would mean the coyote would annihilate the LS because the coyote in stock form can rev way higher than the LS/LT. If you compare tech, the coyote blows them away as well. Even the...
I have to give FoMoCo a lot of credit for these engines, and the engine is why I bought the car to be honest. I've complained ad infinitum about the stupid 100mm bore center that they backed themselves into (Such a poor, poor choice made for a FWD V-8 engine plan in the 90's) and because of...
I know that sounds absurd, but Bayer (Monsanto) just settled a class action lawsuit whereby... "Individuals, depending on the strength of their cases, will receive payments of $5,000 to $250,000, according to two people involved in the negotiations." (link) These are people that have...
Not sure if the 18+ are running different tires, but if not and you are on stock Pirelli's, don't play around until they are warm, they break loose quite easily and a bit unpredictably (well for me) when cold.
If you pay a tuner, they can lower the rpm cutoff, but like others said, it is far...
EFI++
Stock or GT350
Why? Ford spend thousands of dollars doing "The hard work" flow testing them and has the numbers a tuner needs to make them work right. There are a lot of numbers needed to make drive by wire work right and getting those numbers can be hard if the TB mfg won't give...
About a decade ago I saw a Mazda Repo pickup. Way, way cool, still had the "Rotary Power" painted on the tailgate. LOL out here in statusville, my 2015 Mustang is old. LOL most people wonder what kind of Tesla or BMW it is. I saw a Probe less than a month ago, very rare out here. Still see...
