i have a first gen mazdaspeed 3. its just about 400 whp/425 tq lightly bolted GT makes 415 whp. mazda weighs 500 lbs less. i drive my mazda 75% of the time. also live in LA area. just boosted my mustang so it will probably be 50-50 now :D

i run a full stainless works system. basically headers--high flow cats and exhaust will make it sound worlds different than your standard or basic 5.0 with exhaust. after the sc was added sounds like an f1 car :D

i run a 285/30/20 on a 20x10+35 and 305/30/20 20x11+50 set. all depends what doing with the car and how low. i'm over 2 inches lowered. pretty much one finger gap all 4 corners. more sidewall is better for drag.

From what i understand if it has their tuning (calibration) and it's their stage 1-2 kit. it's closed airbox. Tuner kit or competition kit has an open air filter element exposed. My competition kit is open air filter. Get a cobrajet intake and tune for it problem solved :D

Stage 1-2 whipple kits include the plugs. Tuner/competition does not come with plugs

Stage 1 and 2 whipple kit use Ngk iridium one step colder. I have a tuner kit diff injectors and brisk silver 2 step colder plugs.

It's a 4 valve...that's heavy and small for a 'v8' application. Other than fully bolted and or cams not much is gonna improve low end power by much. Either a bigger engine...compression/headwork cams and full bolt...or nitrous or forced induction

Would love to make this...but I don't see my next stage of build complete in time...car is still at Cerritos ford waiting to see if they'd cover my differential...then it's time to install a few parts
