Preserving a rarity for collectability sake and insurance against potential thousands of dollars to replace a scratched/cracked wheel.
I’m with you… why preserve it so the next guy can enjoy it and not yourself?
I think Michelin says 5 years as long as it’s climate controlled. As the rubber ages it becomes less pliable. Even though you aren’t seeing cracks, it’ll likely be less sticky and might chunk faster than a fresher tire. If you aren’t pushing 10/10’ths, sliding around, you likely won’t notice a...
The last ones were from my track mini (also cup 2’s), these were a few from my gt350.
I’d say all in all I’ve corded 16 sets of cup 2’s over the few years I’ve tracked it. My home track is notoriously hard on brakes and tires and I push 10/10’ths :)
You’ve got one maybe two days left in them from my estimation. The outside shoulder looks to be in great shape. Go until you see a healthy amount of cord… stop before you get to carcass:)
I willfully admit, I took this one a little too far. You can see cords which run around the tire, then...
Plenty of life left, but I guess it depends what you’re looking to get out of them. How long has it taken you to get to that point is probably the more important question.
It’s entirely possible your oil pump is cavitating. Is oil pressure good? Does the dipstick show full? Did you use 10 quarts of the recommended dinosaur juice?
Totally normal and absolutely fine. You’re seeing remnants of where the brake pad stops when the car comes to a rest and sits for a period of time. Next time you drive the car stomp on the brakes a few times and they’ll be gone. After sitting for a while you’ll have new deposits in different areas.
1000% agree. The 3D printing community is typically very open, which leads to entitlement. I can’t tell you how many people have berated me for not sending them the files of the products I’ve designed/paid to have designed.
Only about 800 or so sets of oil filter guides, twist to lock oil funnels, and XL twist to lock oil funnels for 15 different models now. Yeah… I’d say it went well :)
@jono12345 , if you want some advice on pricing/sales strategy let me know. I’d be happy to pass on anything I’ve learned over...
Did you find it worked well? I seem to remember guys saying it would slip/move while in use. I can easily make them, I was just under the assumption they were subpar.
I just looked back at our messages from 2021. Looks like I sold you an oil adding funnel, which I make for all fords and many more cars/trucks. The oil filter guide that they’re referencing isn’t one of mine unfortunately.
You should head over to fordgtforum.com and ask those guys, many of whom own gt350’s or gt500’s.
I sold my gt350 a few years ago after blowing the engine on track. I knew I eventually wanted to replace it with a GT, but unfortunately that’s not in the budget at the moment. I instead settled for...
