I realize this may sound like sacrilege on a Mustang board, but maybe you should take a look at a 1SS 1LE. I'm cross shopping the two cars and I haven't made up my mind yet, but its a pretty impressive package. And factory orders are delivered reliably in 8-10 weeks.
The grill sucks, the fake side scoop is stupid, the accentuated hood vents will be a hit in the Pep Boys catalog, and this is being made why, again? So for a premium you get these nifty add-ons and maybe a blower on a stock block Coyote:headbonk:
In a couple years I can see Jack Roush getting...
I looked at some window stickers for 2018s on order. GT premium PP w/ mag ride, exhaust, and other bells and whistles going for over 52K. The GT has really gone upmarket. In all fairness, the Camaro has as well if you get a loaded 2SS with all the boxes checked.
It's not pointless to me because I'm cross shopping the two - even though I know the two cars have somewhat different characteristics. As for the PP2, I would imagine it would be more expensive than the "regular" PP. But once we know, I'd like to do the same analysis for the PP2.
Sure - I did this more as an exercise for myself because I'm cross shopping the two vehicles. And price is big consideration in what I will buy.
Who knows what the PP2 will entail.
Out of curiosity (and the sticker shock over the priciness of the 2018 Mustang), I decided to compare the costs of a 1SS 1LE and GT with options that line up with the 1LE package (that means perf pkg, magna ride, active exhaust, etc.) I'm using the base GT because that lines up with the 1SS...
Update - No one I've spoken to can order PP with 647 wheels.
I suppose this is due to late availability for the 647 wheels.
If anyone out there gets an order placed for a PP car with 647 wheels, please post. Thanks.
I'll buy a $55K ZL1 before I buy a 45K Mustang GT. And I know come December deals will be had on 2017 ZL1s. Its worth the stretch to have anything with an LT4 vs. a Coyote. And I'l put up with the styling, visibility, etc. etc.
