did the finish work on my trans cooler. Decided to trim the fitting that screms into the trans for the return line to give me more clearance.
Readjusted my exhaust to make sure it doesnt vibrate against anything.
Rechecked the bolts on the DSS CF driveshaft.
Finished hard wiring my V1 and...
all classic cars are money pits. if you go that route, buy " completely needs to be built" or "completely built and finished". dont buy anything in between, else you'll end up building it anyway.
The gt350 is worth owning.
tough call.
50, could you do me a huge favor? could you possibly weigh the trans that has the pump and the non-pump trans?
im keenly interested in knowing what the weight difference is, especially when compared to an electric pump.
maybe dsc can recommend a spring manufacturer to work with on springs for the 350s?
im more than happy to be a test mule and track the piss out of it. I'm almost ready for spring track season. I've got one more weekend left to go back over everything ive done over the last couple months...
iirc it was 3 bills.
everything, including the pump , and down to every last push pin and fitting ran me 823.47.
i'm not going to say that the project is for everyone. it took me a fair amount of time , just staring at the car taken apart to settle on how i did it.
priming the rad...
one thing to note:
with the car running (kooks headers, green cats, factory catback) idling in normal mode, you cannot hear this pump. it is rated for constant duty. it is brass helical gears, and flows 2.3 gpm.
Yep. Everything is fully functional. The fender liner hides everything and keeps the fluid lines in place. Being that it is after of the front wheels, the placement of the pump also puts any catastrophic fluid leaks behind the front wheels, so I can at least steer while the car implodes. :)
The...
how do you know that I dont own a home in whistler and dont have friends that would purchase something for me, then sell it to me shortly thereafter? ;)
Well, Finally finished up my trans cooler. It's temporary until I pull the trigget on a track pack trans. I used as much of the factory parts as I could, unmodified, to facilitate re-using them when i switch to the trans. I installed the switch in an easy to replace interior panel. I'm using the...
i wanted AG or CO, but I ended up with black. black at MSRP vs 5-10K for AG or CO.
I'll wrap it if it becomes untenable. :-)
If i knew what I know now about warranty coverage, etc, I would have gone to canada and bought a car there.
Installed my mgw shift ( finally).
Finished up all of the plumbing on my trans cooler.
Tomorrow will be carbon fiber driveshaft install, wiring, and reassembly.
yup. And this is why the only time i put the dash cams in my car are when I'm forced to take it to the dealer.
and if Ford would have thrown up their hands like they did with my transmission issue, I would have ghostrided the whip into the lobby in dearborn.
hey dont shoot the messenger.
My wife said " go buy a gt350 is that's what you really want".
So I did.
Then she said, "go buy your stupid AMG G63 before you change your mind and come home with something stupid like a porsche or a maclaren."
She knows me all too well. :)
She and I...
fyi for those that have the jpm coachworks shifter boot that they preinstalled on a new bezel for you, you're going to have to trim down a little bit furthar on the shifter collar than george shows in his video due to how much glue was used.
I installed mine today, going slow, watching every...
I posted this in another thread too... but....
if it is the same guy that I chatted with, he's had quite a few issues with his car and the dealership that he bought it through.
As I understood it, they "detailed " the car and burnt through the paint, botched the splitter install, and the...
