there are a few tricks.
1. Ceramic coating.
2. If the car is not squeeky clean, don't touch it. resist the urge.
3. waterless car wash is the devil.
4. Be friends with a great detailer
otherwise, it will forever be swirl city.
wtf sort of term and interest rate are you into?
The only reason that I'd EVER have a loan on a vehicle go over 36 months would be if my investments will make more per year that inflation + the interest rate.
Otherwise that is a pretty poor financial decision.
For example...
0% for 36...
sequential dct? yes please. this was my point. probably good for 2-3 seconds per lap on just about any track.
some of us actually still have some 3 on the tree vehicles and still love them. :-)
if it was dct like in a ferrari or a porsche, I would have bought one.
I love me a 6spd, but i've already had the tailshaft housing replaced once under warranty, on top of coolergate 2016.
i spoke with vossen and their rep was pretty adamant that the 19" barrels that they offer do not clear the calipers on gt350s. I'd double check with them to make sure you arent ordering wheels that wont fit.
maybe once i got to the point where i was turning laps within a tenth of second of one another, and i had exhausted every driver mod that i could.
until then, i'd spend the coin on lightening the car as much as i could.
autocross is one thing, hitting the back straight, spinning up to 165mph, braking hard and swinging into a tight turn 1 with a wall in front of you is a MUCH different animal.
you can run whatever you like. Running an autocross on the wheels you spoke of? Not an issue. maybe you spin out...
my choice is forgeline. Vossen's 19" barrels dont clear our brakes.
you may not prep your car for hard track driving. That is totally cool.
I dont have any interest in the associated risk of lesser wheels. I'm willing to spend the coin on forgelines.
i do realize that, but just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD.
I like breathing. I also like to push myself and my car during open track days. I would not risk thin margins.
::shrug:: If its a style thing, more power to you. I'm just a bit more of a function over form...
I live in louisiana and dont drive the car when it is below 50 degrees.
Plus, Not all things fit in a gt350. especially not at the same time.
It is a REALLY fun roadtrip car though.
1600 lbs is on the absolute edge of what i'd personally be looking at if you're going to run R comps and go fast.
that gives you less than 15% margin for error under driving conditions when you have in under control. remember g forces multiply the amount of force exerted on components. your...
the question becomes, what is the load rating of the wheels you bought?
What do they weigh?
What is it like to get a repair done on them, or warranty interactions when they crack?
yesterday i drove 362 miles.
Starting trans temp was on a cold start. 71 degrees.
I got into houston i-10 traffic around rush our.
it was 73 degrees out. The trans topped out at 171.
I may or may not have been travelling triple digit speeds for 15 mins at a time during my drive...
i have kooks. I had the green cats, a tow truck driver damaged them.
I replaced the midpipes with the standard catted ones.
Green cats still gave me a CEL. It would come up every 100 miles or so unless i used 100+ octane.
The standard cats are louder, probably because of less material...
I'd be interested in hearing the specs on the actual wheels.
Weight, load rating, etc.
The tail panel and fluid caps , I could do without, but to each their own.
At that price, if the wheel specs are right, it actually isnt awful, considering it isnt hard to spend 10 grand on a wheel/tire...
i'm going to call you out on complete misinformation.
You can absolute wrap and/or stripe over Ceramic coatings.
I had the front of my car wrapped in PPF. I had cquartz pro done over top and over the rest of the car.
I got a rock chip on my roof that bothered me.
i had my roof...
the car market has made a VERY noticeable shift towards exotics.
go take a look at the pricing for even turds like 308s and maintenance nightmares like the 355s. Going for STUPID money compared to even 2 years ago.
Legit 91/92 testarossas? STUPID money now. 3 years ago, they were 65K for a...
I got pissed at ford for a few things. I was intent on dumping my gt350. Drove a gt3 again. drove a gt4. drove a viper ACR. Drove a 458....
I even drove the gtm supercar that I sold to a garage neighbor again.
I decided that i was keeping the gt350 because it was so much more fun on the...
I have the vorshlag plates. I'd highly recommend them. they are probably the highest quality plates that ive ever used.
They also almost perfectly match the cortex monoballs.
