  1. Don’t be a neigh-sayer, Livernois Motorsports keeps the Mustang progression moving!

Awesome runs. Straight 93, e85 mix, or race gas? Not sure if you guys posted that elsewhere.
  2. Don’t be a neigh-sayer, Livernois Motorsports keeps the Mustang progression moving!

Responding only because I don't like to make a statement and run away without letting people rebut. Nothing in that comment invalidates what I said. Implying I don't know what a good tune looks like in an attempt to discredit me was a cute touch though.
  3. Don’t be a neigh-sayer, Livernois Motorsports keeps the Mustang progression moving!

Actually, I'm going to step out of this thread and let Livernois do their thing. I have nothing negative to say about their tune and I think they're doing great work. I've said what I wanted about their claim of being tune only. Using DRs makes sense, no argument there. My issue was their...
  4. Don’t be a neigh-sayer, Livernois Motorsports keeps the Mustang progression moving!

Don't change the argument. You stated that they might run something like a 13.5 on regular tires and it wouldn't communicate how good the tune is. This isn't true. The quality of the tune would then be shown in the trap speed rather than the time. There isn't a single person unaware that poor...
  5. Don’t be a neigh-sayer, Livernois Motorsports keeps the Mustang progression moving!

If that really was the case and the tune was good it would be shown in the trap speed. Livernois could then easily state, without issue, that the reason for the times would be that they couldn't hook. And every single person would understand.
  6. Don’t be a neigh-sayer, Livernois Motorsports keeps the Mustang progression moving!

One could also equate it to something like downhill skiing or boarding. Take a skier going downhill on his tried and true set of skis. Then, he throws a new coat of wax on them to show how much it can affect downhill speeds and tells everybody he did that just by waxing. He neglects to mention...
  7. Don’t be a neigh-sayer, Livernois Motorsports keeps the Mustang progression moving!

Nobody is saying it isn't. All anyone is say is that plopping DRs on the car is not tune only. What they should have done is run the stock setup with the radials too!
  8. Don’t be a neigh-sayer, Livernois Motorsports keeps the Mustang progression moving!

It's an impressive run, and awesome work. But upgrading the tires means that it is not tune only. I want to see that with stock tires, or the stock tune with those tires. The comparison isn't valid without doing so, and to claim otherwise is disingenous. edit: and it seems dragonacc beat me to...
  9. I was skeptical about clay....

Maybe it is just the lighting playing tricks, but I have to ask. Did you take pictures for a post in order to show off the virtues of a proper detail, and then apply a filter that made it impossible to see what you were talking about?
  10. Mishimoto Build Thread: EcoBoost Direct Fit Oil Cooler Kit!

Cool, thanks for the response. Still waiting on you guys to finish up that catch can kit!
  11. Winter tires?

I'd consider $200 a good chunk. Anyway, since I posted here earlier, I'll post the setup I ended up getting. 18x8 Rage R20s with 225/45-R18 Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice WRT Came in under $1000 for everything except installation.
  12. How safe are tunes?

Are you referring to the 1/4 or simple power numbers? I think I know which cars you're referring to though. Making higher peak numbers doesn't impress me. What impresses me is a car that has more area under the curve. A car that is faster reliably, pull after pull, without significant power...
  13. How safe are tunes?

Definitely true. Though, Ford's turbo choice pretty much guarantees we're not going to be besting the Coyote without a good number of supporting modifications. Especially that intercooler. That and there's still a pretty substantial high end power advantage.
  14. Mishimoto Build Thread: EcoBoost Direct Fit Oil Cooler Kit!

Question regarding the oil pressure. What portion of the run was that 136s excerpt taken from, the beginning, middle, or end? Only asking because it seems like it was still trending upwards at the end of that 136 second period. I'm not thinking there's a problem, would just like to see the...
  15. How safe are tunes?

Long term reliability and emissions targets.
  16. Mazdaspeed Owner Roll Call

I definitely liked the 6 more, but it took work to really get there. The biggest negatives to the 6 are that it shows it's weight in comparison to the 3, and there's a bit more to keep track of and upgrade to before you can really play. As much as I liked it, my 6 ended up being a terrible dd...
  17. Mazdaspeed Owner Roll Call

I had a 2011 GenPu and a 2006 Speed 6. I wouldn't say either of them was fully bolted, but they each had a few improvements. Here's a quick unformatted list of everything the two of them had. The 3 had a CS intake, FMIC, HPFP internals, ebay downpipe, JBR RMM, JBR swaybar. The 6 had a...
  18. Winter tires?

Since we have this thread going I guess I'll post up my potential setup for winter. I have the Ecoboost w/PP: 225/45/18 tires with 18x7.5 35-45 offset wheels From everything I've seen this should work perfectly fine in terms of caliper clearance and ice/snow performance. But, I haven't seen...
  19. Introduce yourself!!

As of last night I am a new owner of an Ecoboost performance pack, no other options. Got it in Magnetic. Currently looking into what I'm going to do for my winter set of tires and patiently waiting for mishimoto to release their catch can kit! I also have a project with is a 1987 porsche 944s...
