The GPSM (global positioning satellite module) is the small square module shown in the second picture of TX5.0 post. The new GPS antenna (usually installed where the GPSM was, under the dash, above the a/c vents) is connected to the APIM, and it replaces the GPSM. The grey and the violet wires...

The GPSM module needs to be removed from the car. Then, you can either disassemble the connector and pull the terminals or just remove the wrapping tape from the harness and cut the grey and the violet wires. I extended these two wires, and connected them to the APIM with new pins.

You have to lift some plastic tabs to release the terminals from the connector. In the picture below, the "Contact Primary Lock" arrow is pointing at the tabs. Just pry (carefully) the tab in front of the terminal you want to release. Be careful not to break them. I took extra time to release...

Sync 3 Call The Parts Farm. They should have a few more Sync 3 APIMs w/Nav in stock. I got mine from them two weeks ago.

I just finished a base-to-Sync3 swap. The only thing I had to re-program in the APIM was Park-Assist function. All other programming was related to the ACM, IPC, and ABS. Remember, 2015 Mustangs came with either base radio of MFT, not Sync3.
