My automatic was a 2016 with 22k miles. $5k plus the V6 auto got me a new 2017 manual (with factory warranty, bumper-to-bumper, power train, etc.). I still haven't installed all the parts I had on the auto (leather seats, Sync 3, GT grill, exhaust, MPT tune, etc), but I feel happy with the...
I love the sound. I bought a stock GT catback and then installed the Borla axleback (cheaper than buying a catback setup for the V6). I was told the Borla touring is a bit louder than the Ford Performance by Borla, which is the one I have. At idle it almost sounds like stock (except when you...
Checked the ACM connection.....all good. I replaced the ACM with one I had at home....same issue. Is there any other connection between the radio and the actual antenna?
Does anyone know where’s the stock radio antenna/wiring located on a 2017 base model?
Traded my 2016 V6 for a new 2017 V6. None of the radio stations work. I rather check it out myself before taking the car back to the dealership.
Hey guys,
I love my 2016 V6 auto (Sync-3, GT exhaust with Borla touring mufflers, leather seats, etc), but I think I'm missing something...a Manual transmission. The car feels great with the MPT tune, but sometimes it gets pretty boring, and I really miss the fun of driving a manual...
The GPSM (global positioning satellite module) is the small square module shown in the second picture of TX5.0 post. The new GPS antenna (usually installed where the GPSM was, under the dash, above the a/c vents) is connected to the APIM, and it replaces the GPSM. The grey and the violet wires...
The GPSM module needs to be removed from the car. Then, you can either disassemble the connector and pull the terminals or just remove the wrapping tape from the harness and cut the grey and the violet wires. I extended these two wires, and connected them to the APIM with new pins.
You have to lift some plastic tabs to release the terminals from the connector. In the picture below, the "Contact Primary Lock" arrow is pointing at the tabs. Just pry (carefully) the tab in front of the terminal you want to release. Be careful not to break them. I took extra time to release...
I just finished a base-to-Sync3 swap. The only thing I had to re-program in the APIM was Park-Assist function. All other programming was related to the ACM, IPC, and ABS.
Remember, 2015 Mustangs came with either base radio of MFT, not Sync3.
Jeffola,
Is there any particular issue with your APIM? If I was you, I'd go and download the As-Built Data from your VIN and modify only what needs to be changed. What do you need help with?
You can also lookup the VIN from another 2015 GT Premium conv. (try online auction sites) with the same...
Just wanted to thank those of you who have spent time answering my questions and guiding me to make this swap possible. Special thanks to HextallS550, zackmd1, krishelnino, soldier989, DanMc85, and spart.
I finished my base-to-sync3 swaps a few days ago, and couldn't be happier. If any member...
