  1. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

Ok, so, I’ll bring in a few YouTube videos. I know, I know, don’t trust them. Anybody can make them but, to a certain degree, I do. First one is this guy saying EXACTLY what my nephew mechanic says. Yes, your UOA may be accurate info but, nothing beats experiences SEEN WITH THEIR OWN EYES than...
  2. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

I don’t care if you are the president of the United States of America. I have to weigh out facts from my mechanic nephew vs facts from jackknife from Mustang forums. I don’t doubt your UOA results at all. But, I don’t doubt my nephew’s experiences repairing engines every single day so, that’s...
  3. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

All right! I’m a troll now!!! Ok folks let’s do some math. Our user manuals say change the oil somewhere between 3,000 and 10,000 miles depending on how we drive and conditions. Let’s go right down the middle and that’s 6,500 miles. Pretty safe spot to do oil changes don’t you think? I’m not...
  4. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

Hey ctandc72, chill. You’re mad. It’s going to be ok!!!
  5. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

So, my nephew “mechanic” who is a real “mechanic” and has seen the damage of waiting too long for oil changes recommends 5000 mile oil changes or less knows nothing according to you guys. He has 20 years experience being a real mechanic! Fine, you are entitled to think that. I know better. For...
  6. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

I do my own oil changes. For over 35 years. Maybe I should go for 30,000 or 50,000. What the heck, 100,000!!! UOA should still be good!!!
  7. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

Look what the guys at F150 ecoboost forums are saying. Are they grandpas too? LOL. I’m done here. I hope you can go 20,000 miles on your oil changes and your engine lasts a long time. Me, I am like my Safe & Smart package that came with my Mustang, I’m changing full synthetic (by recommendation...
  8. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

Yes, that one is a little older but, still a good guideline. How about this one? https://blog.modbargains.com/15000-mile-oil-change-myth/
  9. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

Fake Oil? Here are more facts for you. 5th paragraph down. Read it and weep. https://www.machinerylubrication.com/Read/562/oil-change-filter-sensors
  10. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

Do you really want to keep embarrassing yourself? The best rebuttal is my mechanic nephew saying change your oil 5000 miles OR LESS!!!!! He’s seen the damage. That’s enough for me. Lots of people here do 5000 mile or less oil changes so, you’re going agains a lot of people here.
  11. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

Here’s some advice for you.....stop giving advice.
  12. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

Yes! In the end, I will be the one laughing my ass off!!!
  13. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

Yeah, changing your oil is dumb. LOL. My nephew who is a mechanic told me...if you have a turbo, you better change it at 5000 miles or less or you’re asking for trouble. Let’s see, should I take the advice of someone on a Mustang Forum or a 20 year mechanic? I’m sure the 2 “sane” people who have...
  14. Question about oil specification: WSS-M2C945-A vs WSS-M2C945-B1

I don’t know what the new oils do but, any improvement is good!
  15. Question about oil specification: WSS-M2C945-A vs WSS-M2C945-B1

At least it’s being addressed. I have read if the LSPI problem can be solved, car makers can tune their cars to get the MPGs they can really achieve. That would be great for the ecoboost!!!
  16. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

Actually it does. There is visual evidence that either heat and or carbon is turning the oil black. Which is most likely better? Dirty oil or clean oil? I think we know the answer to that. Put another way, would you like to fill your engine with my used 4000-5000 mile oil or new, off the shelf...
  17. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

I changed my first oil change at 900 miles to get any possible metal shavings out. Opinions vary on first oil changes. As far as this oil change photo, I posted this photo to my facebook page and this is what my mechanic nephew said: newer cars have low tension piston rings to improve fuel...
  18. Here’s what my oil looks like at 4000 miles

Put it in a clear container and dipped a sheet of inkjet photo paper in it and let it run off. Currently using Mag1 full synthetic. My initial oil change after buying new was at 900 miles and was surprised how dark it was then. I’ve never had an engine turn oil dark this fast. I’ll just change...
