All being well, I'll be signing on the dotted line for Plan B in a few hours time :)
The car's an early-build 2019 (mid-July 2018). For those with 2019s, are there any warranty/recall issues that I should make sure are sorted? I know about the wiring-loom and tonneau cap problems, but do they...
I can't imagine there's much, if anything in it. On my old Vette, claimed power with the standard exhaust was 430 bhp and with the bi-modal it was 437 bhp...and in Europe they claimed 436 bhp with the standard exhaust :cwl:
Even if the US claims were correct, I'd buy a pint for anyone who...
My blend date was 23rd Jan and Etis build date was 13th Feb. As it's a UK car, there's no way of checking status other than via the dealer...who (as of Friday) still couldn't get any info out of Ford US. Even if it was chucked out of the factory with a steering wheel right now, it would still...
Frustrating to see cars built after mine now on ships heading to the UK...with no way of getting info from Ford on how long the backlog will take to clear - and the dealer's in the same boat (pun intended!). Working on a Plan B, hopefully sorted early next week...
Thing about the US is...they still love snake oil :)
Seriously, my mate who moved out to Austin would spend hours with his neighbours debating the benefits of 15- versus 20- versus 25-year paint for their weatherboard, which pesticide was best for fire-ants, etc....and everyone was convinced...
Checked with the dealer, and the response back was that it "hasn't been released from the factory yet due to final quality checks". Since you could rebuild the car at least 5-6 times in the month it's been sitting around post-build, I guess it's most likely due to missing parts like the...
Interesting. The dates line up - and the downtime would explain why 23rd Jan became 13th Feb. If normal supplies were resumed 25th Feb then hopefully I should have 5 wheels on my wagon by now :)
Sounds good to me :like:
I'll give the dealer a prod - he gave the impression he wanted to drag me in to sort out the finance paperwork the instant my car came off the production line!
According to the window sticker, mine had a blend date of 23rd Jan...but when the build date finally appeared on Etis it had been built on 13th Feb (and Etis was updated the following day). Etis has updated a bit more in the meantime (e.g suspension details added) but still showing no gate...
Not as bad as the "Driver Attention" warning on my wife's Merc E-class. When I'm on a quiet motorway I usually drive smoothly and make gradual lane-change manoeuvres...which it decides means I'm falling asleep so it asks me if I'd like it to find a service area....!
Nice wheel choice, and good to see you've fitted a towbar as well
Very jealous - can't wait 'til I can stop checking Etis daily for gate release to appear....
Is that the blend date from the window sticker? I wouldn't set too much store by it - my window sticker says 23rd Jan, but when Etis finally updated it showed a build date of 13th Feb.
Etis is now updated with the detailed spec for my car, which is nice (especially as it all looks correct!). One thing I spotted though is that Etis shows a diff ratio of 3.55, whereas the EU press release for 2018 models shows GT autos (which mine is) having a 3.35 ratio (with 3.55 only for GT...
Ford does move in mysterious ways...
Window sticker had appeared on 17th Jan showing blend date of 23rd Jan. Nothing on Etis until today when a build date finally appeared: 13th Feb. Nothing else new in Etis, but hopefully more detail will start to follow... Looks like it might end up being...
I've only ever been a passenger in a car with a heated screen, but found the "diffraction pattern" around headlights very distracting. Do you ever get used to it?
So, window sticker appeared last week (17th Jan date on the bottom) with Blend date 23rd Jan. Just had a text from the dealer saying it's about to be built soon, etc. Still nothing on Etis, but the window sticker now has today's date on the bottom (although everything else, including Blend...
It's all very subjective: losing out to an M2 based on what criteria and embarrassing to who? I'd rather have a shouty V8 than a droney turbo-6, but others have different priorities. If you're spending ÂŁ50K+ on a car, surely the most important thing is that you enjoy owning/driving it? Not...
