  1. Buying Used in the UK

Nah. He eb isn’t you but there is another making the switch from a local group :).
  2. Buying Used in the UK

If you want to shop around for a great deal then try Aaron Borg @ Sandicliffe Nottingham. He just did my Red Shadow Edition and someone local is trading in their 2016 EcoBoost for a White Platinum Shadow Edition too with him despite not being our local dealer. Let him know Michael Dunn sent...
  3. Another returns

It's surprising that I think a lot of people did try RS's and found them to be wanting. I made the switch to the Mondeo which I probably shouldn't have done as its cost me a chunk but lesson learnt. Had it not been for deals on 2017's I wouldn't even have considered the switch back.
  4. Another returns

Nice to see you all again. Today I placed deposit on another S550 Mustang. After a lot of trouble with my first car and with changes in family requirements last year I sold up last June and switched to a Focus RS. That lasted about 6 months as I really didn't get on with the car. I swapped...
  5. WBAC Valution up!

I traded in to Ford. 1 year old with exhaust and stripe. Got £31k for a Yellow GT with all options. Privately may have made a bit more. I can't see the higher priced ones selling especially when the new one is made available. There are loads around so I think the glory days are fading.
  6. Time to say Goodbye to the Stang

Act that price the RS would have had problems or been a Cat car. Mine as a new with 9 miles on it. I paid £34750 and only got £200 discount due to having 2 services left on the Ford Protect plan for the Stang I traded in. I wish I could have kept the Stang and bought the RS for daily work but...
  7. Time to say Goodbye to the Stang

Well yesterday was the day. So far the RS is a lot of fun but only just crossed the 50 miles driven mark. Magnetic is such a nice colour on this car too and so glad I didn't go Nitrous blue.
  8. Kangarooing down the road.

If you haven't already. Change the clutch spring for a Steeda one. Much better feel as not fighting 150lb of standard spring. Its a £20 mod and worth every penny
  9. Time to say Goodbye to the Stang

Didn't need to turn TC off. Just when you hold the brake hold it for longer than you think. A few extra seconds is all it needed. First attempt it said not available. 2nd worked :)
  10. Time to say Goodbye to the Stang

No not near Berkshire. Paperwork on new car was signed today and they have settled my old finance too so its just a case of dropping old car off and picking up new one now. Line lock is a feature of the car so if they ask if I've used it I would say yes. Why wouldn't I? :)
  11. Time to say Goodbye to the Stang

I'm sure I'll come along to some things. I'm still really torn and struggling with letting go but know it's the right decision. The RS just looks like it ticks the boxes for what I need in the next few years. I'm sure I'll buy another Mustang later on. I did get some discount on the RS but...
  12. Time to say Goodbye to the Stang

I managed to get £31k including exhaust as didn't want effort of removing it. Was £30.5k without it. That said I got screwed a bit as didnt pay attention and when they added the exhaust to trade in he didn't reapply my discount so I lost out on £300 there so all in I got £200 for a full...
  13. Time to say Goodbye to the Stang

Good to see I am not the only one making the switch. The RS really does seem to tick the boxes and it wasn't until deal was done did the Mrs say how much she hated having to try and fit things into the Mustang and how impractical it was. She kept it to herself as she knew I loved it but she is...
  14. Time to say Goodbye to the Stang

Well after 12 months I finally caved and realised I needed something more practical that allows me to actually use the back seats. I agreed a deal on a new Focus RS today with Ford and the Stang will be traded in on Saturday assuming all checks and paperwork comes back ok etc. Got a fair...
  15. Gap insurance

ALA. 5 years vehicle replacement plus so basically new for old including any price rises. About £400 all in. Use HJ17 code to save some money too.
  16. This can't be normal?

Baldy if you are on Facebook from me a PM on here with some details. We have a local group going for owners in Peterborough area and trying to do meets every few weeks or at least once a month. About 8 or 9 of us on there at the moment.
  17. Ford strikes again - now resolved

Damn. Mander's beat me to that bit. If you paid the £2k initial VED then its their problem. Tell them to sort it or reject the car and hand it back for a full refund. It is not what you ordered or expected.
  18. Ford strikes again - now resolved

Did you pay the lower or higher rate of VED for 1st year including 1st registration? It should show on your invoice. Either £1200 or £2000. If they charged the latter then it should have been an April reg. If the former they did it on the 31st to get their numbers in. I had a problem with...
  19. UK Insurance for the Mustang

Renewed with Aviva. Called them up to discuss my renewal and before I could even say I had other quotes she knocked over £100 off. Made some changes to policy as no longer using it for work or commuting and dropped it down again. Total insurance is just under £700 which whilst still up from...
  20. UK Owner looking for help from across the pond.

Well after the kind offers above and Chef jpd willing to go way above and beyond, I was able to ship direct from Levitown Ford. Parts are cheap and shipping is expensive ($62). Hopefully all sorted now as long as the parts lists are right and UK and USA buckles are the same. Thanks for...
