I hope it's at the DC Auto Show. The DC show has been garbage for years now... no one brings anything good so I've skipped it since ~2009. If I know the S550 will be there then so will I.

Aside from having the same wheelbase they are saying the chassis is entirely new. If that's the case I can totally see how they'd hit those weight targets. I certainly hope so... and they're acting like they know they have something good... so I tend to think we may be very pleased whenever...

The Willow Springs comparo was against a E92 (coupe.) But yes -- stock dampers were an issue. The car was great with a simple damper upgrade! I hope Ford gets the stock dampers right with the S550.

I hope that they had the F80/F82 in mind, which shed a ton of weight over the E90/E92.

A tighter and more sculpted body with a longer hood, shorter roof, fastback, and lower ride height will really take a lot of visual mass off the car.

That's what they said. M3 could mean the old E92 or the new F80/F82 platforms. I hope it's the latter, which means they knew they had to contend with a car that's significantly lighter than the previous model.

Under 3,300 lbs... very nice! Going to be very tough for Ford to go to battle with the M4 if they weren't able to cut significant weight. Hopefully they surprise us. :)

I have used one, actually (Mercedes.) My button question was related to accidental button-pushing when the key card is kept in a pocket or wallet. I know how the whole proximity thing works. ;) I'm just more of a fob fan than a key card fan.

This thread... right in the feels. I really miss my S2000. As much as I love Mustangs and Z cars, my AP2 is by far the best car I've owned. So. Much. Fun.
