  1. 27 MPG in my GT tonight on the NYS Thruway

If you go into engineering mode you can adjust the mpg readout by a number of percent to read more accurately. Your numbers are all over the place but I see a lot around 3 and 4% off. It's something I've been meaning to do for a while but don't have enough data to pick the value...
  2. 2018 Mustang Refresh (Prototype) First Look!

wouldn't that mean the headlight would have to turn off during the time the blinker is on, like the Fogs do on cars where they're too close? I don't see that happening. maybe if it was in addition to the normal turn signals and just for fun. but that seems a bit gimmicky, and they'd never do...
  3. Tow hooks now for the preformance pack 550

What are the chances this location is also where the ecoboost grille has an opening (or even one that's blocked off and can be opened up)?
  4. Latest update from Ford Performance Tune

if this is the case you can probably bet they'd use the 93 numbers and then put an asterisk referencing some fine print.
  5. Making a Smaller Passive Key Fob

    just checking ;)
  6. Making a Smaller Passive Key Fob

I hope that you mean in addition to the cost of the key you're cannibalizing to do this, right? I admit this inspired me to fire up my 3d printer again. also to warn anyone attempting this, according to the manual it says you can only have 4 keys programmed to a single car. so if you mess...
  7. Ecoboost PID's

I'm pretty certain you can't get the charge air temperature with the torque app and that that particular piece of information is now stored in DMR, not a PID. you'd need a more specialized reader to get that directly. IAT2 is the inlet air temp, pre turbo. someone correct me if i'm wrong.
  8. Ford Oasis Reports

This link doesn't seem to work for me? any more info on it? Wouldn't mind actually using my 3d printer to make something useful for a change.
  9. Ford Racing ProCal Tune

Update: It looks like the MSRP is set for $399. ouch. so the CAI + the calibration has to be quite a bit.
  10. Vibration between 50 & 70 mph

Just got mine back from the rear end change. Not sure exactly what they did. The vibration is much better, but I can't agree with them that it's gone unfortunately. weird thing though, now my front alignment seems to be off. It doesn't really seem to pullto one side, though it might be extra...
  11. From having the blues to Grabber Blue: My S550 story

in CT it's 60 days over a 2 year period, 4 repairs for the same problem (this number seems to have wiggle room), or 2 repairs if the problem poses a significant risk of life. I only know because mine's in the shop for the 3rd time now, and I don't have any confidence the problem will be fixed...
  12. Steering dead spot (Left)?

i'm able to get it about half the time. but never with the winter tires, only the summers.
  13. Ecoboost Mustangs Getting Slower?

I bet it has a lot to do with heatsoak and the small intercoolers as well. All leading to super inconsistent runs. would it really have been that hard for Ford to upsize it just a little bit.
  14. Mustang Ecoboost Pro Cal Tuner

At least in Orange County he won't see any snow. Even if Ford does get the CARB certification this year, and it's available in August, as they say, we'll not have the tune just before it starts snowing here again. boo. So I wouldn't really be able to enjoy it until it warms up again in the...
  15. 2016 Mustang IIHS Crash Test - Safety Rating

I didn't realize there was an airbag under the steering column. I knew there was one on the passenger side. I hope car audio installers are aware. we always used to pull down those panels, especially to install alarms, remote starts, etc.
  16. trunk capacity?

the wheel well is too small a diameter to take an inflated full size tire iirc, also much too shallow. it is possible to fit four 255-wide tires in the car mounted. I did it, but had to put one in the front seat. there are a number of threads about this.
  17. A Tale of Two Launches

For me, I remember looking at a camaro at the same time I first checked out the mustang at the 2014 NY auto show. I popped the trunk and looked at the porthole sized opening and immediately threw it out of the running. I use my car a lot and sometimes put large items in the trunk. I think...
  18. Warranty alternative for everybody TUNED

so correct me if i'm wrong, but you have to buy this within the first 15 months of a NEW car purchase, and effectively it doesn't gain you anything until after the manufacturers warranty expires, since it would've been covered anyway (except that I guess it lets you take it anywhere, not just...
  19. vibration, rpm specific

Dealer decided to replace the drive shaft. No effect on the problem. I didn't expect it to, since the vibration seems to follow engine speed and not road speed, which is my first step to diagnosing a noise or vibration. I think they were just hoping for the best since the drive shaft is a...
  20. GT or Import

the q50 will be getting a new 400hp twin turbo v6, which is what I think the OP meant. I think it's also getting an entry level 2.0 turbo. I couldn't find any pricing for the trim levels yet, I have a hard time believing their top of the line engine will be priced competitively with the GT...
