Hundreds of thousands of downshifting miles on bikes and cars here with nary a worn gear, dog, fork, or clutch in the bunch. Have seen 80k miles on brake pads, and 100k+ miles on a clutch. Come to a stop in neutral if you must, but all you're doing is wearing out your brakes faster than you need to.
Was totally stoked when I heard the new bronco was coming with a manual, and even a granny gear. Then found out it's only available with the base engine. :crying:
IMO the PP2 is not noticeably harsher than the GT or PP1, and handles significantly better. I don't DD my car, but have 7,500 miles on the cup 2s, and expect to get another 7,500 out of them. Unless you are doing burnouts from every stop, or melting them in every corner, they will last...
