Hot dang! has anyone seen this GTR1 rendering from Galpin? supposed to be based on the Ford GT, a modern version of it.
How about a special edition like this.... or just give me a mustang with some cues from this!
A thousand units wouldn't do much gap filling but yea it would at least get people talking and they will have a good idea about what to expect for the regular production.
I say if they're gonna do it like this it's gotta be a PR stunt that people can follow in that time gap so it keeps their...
Yea altho some of the names weren't quite thought out so well. Not exactly what you expect - people sitting in a board room, conducting surveys, focus groups etc. The GT350 is totally random name from Shelby himself about the number of feet or whatever from his office.
Predator Mustang...
These aussie rumors are suscpicious as hell in my opinion. I dont know where their getting the info but unless Jim Farley spilled the beans to some media outlets over there I don't see them getting info about a Detroit concept/NY prod version before others here. Any leaks that are not from Ford...
What a strange show to choose to bring back the Evos.
That would be crazy f*ked up to show it in Europe before the U.S. I agree really doubt they would do that. Also think if they were going to use the Evos as a prelude to remind people of the design language, they would do it more as a...
I hear ya but the cat is already out of the bag in many ways.
Put it this way, the only people really paying attention to the 2015 rumors right now is the "brand enthusiasts" anyways. These spy shots wont be seen by most regular folks so I dont think showing a little skin would hurt them much...
Pericak and Ford engineering team is big on lights. They put a lot of $$ and effort into the sequential tail lights and making HIDs standard... they wont go backwards now, not when they are trying to sellin Europe. Isn't this a big concern there, what with the rear fog light requirement and all?
I think we need some new special edition names instead of recycling the same ones from the last 50 years. Any good ideas?
How about borrowing from some fighter jet names... theres already a few shared names.... of course the mustang itself, but also Kingcobra is a U.S> fighter jet too.
My...
I dont see why it would they would do this as a S550, it's not like the 2015 wouldn't be special otherwise. The 2014 MY will be longer than usual and it would've also made sense to give it a little jolt at the end of its life and bid it adieu like they have done in the past for outgoing...
You forgot this part of the article:
Other recent Ford Mustang anniversary models:
2009 45th Anniversary Ford Mustang There wasn’t anything too special about this Mustang. Ford actually designated all standard Mustangs (no Bullitt, GT500, etc) models as anniversary models as production...
Curious why, if this article is right, they would choose to wait until April to open orders (which is what I assume they mean by "launch") if it is already showing in January. Gotta think the 2014 orders will get crushed after it shows. 7 months -that's a lot of time they've left from reveal...
What does "to keep people on their side" mean? They didn't have to do anything just like Ford doesn't have to now. The question is whether they should.
Teasing the S550 is not the equivalent of telling people not to buy now. Spy pics come out all the time. People make their own decisions...
I hear what you're saying thePill, but I gotta agree with HGFireHazard, it's wearing thin. I'm excited too but if you think this is a game between Ford and the media, then we are just innocent bystanders. I dont care what goes on between them. Frankly, I'll take a spy pic or 3 of a crappy...
3 years is extreme but it's better than nothing. I didn't think it was old when it came out. They sold a crapload of camaros with all that buzz and the online community rewarded them for it.
i can tell you a LOT of people held off on purchasing a new car after the camaro concept. For 3 long...
You must not have been around for the early 5th gen camaro days. The enthusiast community was buzzing, not just because the camaro was coming back from the dead, but because Chevy did a great job building it up. Concept years before, spy pics aplenty, details were slowly leaked, Transformers...
Glad I could help. I hope someone at Ford reads these boards. It's a real shame their idea of marketing is to let Ken Block see the car and tweet "it's dope" and a picture of the building. Yipeee....
I'm guessing there's at most a few dozen of these early builds at any given time so I doubt it matters where this is built as far as its effect on the FRAP assembles. It would have to be by hand and not on the line since there is presumably no tooling in place and there could still now at this...
Having an engine lineup consisting of a 4 cylinder and a V8 would be a mistake and Ford knows it. If they are going to offer a 4 it will have to be done with caution, not by uprooting current setup and having V6 buyers (read: the majority of buyers right now) decide between forking over the...
