Cool! I'll be attending that event as well. My GT350R is scheduled to arrive 2-3 weeks later so unfortunately no Shelby for me on that date. I'll probably drive my M3 or if I feel sporty the GT3. I'm excited to see your Shelby there though as I have not seen one on the track!
You remove it as it wears off due to heat, water, etc. over time. As such it becomes less effective. Also, in my experience most of the effectiveness is lost once exposed to lots of rain. This was not an issue for me as the car I used it on was a sunny day only car.
I've used this stuff extensively before. It generally works quite well. One word of caution. Don't leave it on your wheels too long as it can be hard to remove. I used it frequently on my Aston Martin and it worked great but I had to make sure I washed the wheels once a month and remove the...
I've used Suntek, Xpel and 3m. Last year I put Suntek on my 991 GT3. I don't track that car and Suntek is a little thinner than the other two I mentioned. It is more optically clear and is less detectable. If the car is tracked or driven in more harsh environments I prefer the Xpel. In...
Sweet! I have a 2017 GT350R on order that is supposed to be here in about one month. I also have a 2016 GT3 with about 1,200 miles, ~$170k sticker. If you are looking to save some cash I'll trade you the 2016 GT3 for your 2016 GT3RS.
Excellent! Makes sense and thanks for the prompt response. Looks like you need to purchase 4 then for our cars or do these not bolt on to the car? I guess I need to read the product description closer.
Very cool. Silly question but how would one jack the car without these? There are no jacking points?
BTW, I am patiently waiting for a 2017 so I can't just go to the garage and check. BTW, I do plan to track the car so need to figure this out as well.
Thanks,
Adam
I'm having somewhat of a difficult time deciphering this thread and ascertaining general facts from opinion. I have a 2017 GT350R coming that I plan to track. HPDE to be specific. I understand the concern with harness mount bars but what about roll bars, like the Watson referenced in the...
Yes, please share! I have a 2016 GT3 and a 2017 Shelby GT350R coming very soon. I'm curious to hear your thoughts as I have not driven a Shelby.
Thanks,
Adam
Thanks for the insight. Much appreciated. I am debating whether to take a 2016 allocation or waiting for a 2017 allocation, both from the same dealer. I'm in Chicago so maybe I get lucky and get the 2017 before snow sets in again next winter??
