  1. Bumpsteer on Stock Mustang

Could you expand on that @Brian@BMVK From my understanding the kit changes the geometry to push the roll center up. On a lowered car this would be good since the roll center is likely to have been pushed down from lowering creating a stronger pendulum (roll effect) during cornering. So the...
  2. Bumpsteer on Stock Mustang

If you put on the RC correction and DIDN'T get an alignment that is your problem... the RC correction kit will inject a tremendous amount of toe out since the lateral arms are shorter. Toe out (especially the amount you got as a result of that install) will cause steering twitchiness.... If you...
  3. Bluemustang’s GT Road Car Build

Super jelly on the rear diffuser. Will have to pick one of those up at some point. Car sure does look amazing (and FAST). Hope you enjoy your upcoming events and am curious to hear your thoughts on the car after the upgrades.
  4. issues after throw out/pilot/slave warranty replacement

I agree that there is likely air still in the system. The dealership should have vacuum bleed the system so sounds like they may not have spent the time to do that or they didn't do it properly. It will eventually bleed itself out, but as mentioned above... It takes quite a bit of driving for...
  5. CJ intake for road racing

Heat is one of the primary concerns. I have made a custom sealed radiator box, bigger road race oil pan, opened grille up, hood venting, fender venting, 80/20 distilled water solution... All at stockist power levels and I just barely feel comfortable enough now to run the car at 10/10s for a 20...
  6. Street Setup

spirited daily... (given that you have camber plates for front, otherwise you will be stuck with whatever you get from the drop) Front -2.0 camber .02 toe in per side Rear -1.5 camber .12 toe in per side
  7. SCCA SA Rated Helmet

What is your budget? and how lightweight do you want? That will drastically alter options... I went with an entry level cost helmet and am happy with it for my HPDE use... has provisions for HANS and feels great. $170ish and in the 4lb range. Conquer Snell SA2015 Approved Full Face Auto Racing...
  8. Street Setup

That setup looks great, I wouldn't change a thing aside from maybe some camber plates if you want to have the ability to adjust front camber. I'm presuming you are planning on getting an alignment afterwards? if so, what settings are you going with? That will play a big role in how the car...
  9. Alignment after rear wheel bearing replacement?

Just throwing this out there... if you had a defective wheel bearing while you got your last alignment, there is a chance (depending on how bad the bearing was) that your last alignment may have been slightly off. If it was me, I would get another alignment after the fresh bearing for peace of...
  10. The Big Fat Track Car Cooling Thread

I appreciate the advice. Gives me some things to think about... I may look into repositioning the vents I have now and custom fabbing block off plates to cover the existing holes. Will have to do some more tuft testing (and collect temps from my gauges) to see how the positioning affects track...
  11. Anyone used spring spacers?

I had the Steeda spacers installed for daily driving and track duty for a couple of years. When I removed them to change setups they looked just fine with no damage.
  12. The Big Fat Track Car Cooling Thread

Thanks for the replies. @gtorpedo our hood setups look similar, although I would much prefer yours as the racelouver design is superior in my opinion. The trackspec center vent hood placement is wayyy too far back... ugh. I ended up making custom wickers for my louvers (trackspec/verus). They...
  13. Books about car suspension

Recently finished reading this book... immensely helped in becoming a better driver. Tires are probably one of the most (if not THE most) underrated performance attribute of a car. The Racing and High-performance Tire: Using the Tires to Tune for Grip and Balance Author: Paul W. Haney
  14. Just had an alignment done at a race shop

Toe eats tires more than camber will... I run -3 camber with zero toe and haven't noticed uneven tire wear. If you take corners a bit more aggressively than the average driver, than -2 camber up front shouldn't be a concern.
  15. The Big Fat Track Car Cooling Thread

@Flyhalf noticed the center vent has an extended plate that goes up the hood (presumably to cover the existing hole left by the Trackspec?)... did you request that extension? If so, how much extra did they charge for that? I have been wanting to go with the RaceLouver center vent, but I already...
