  1. UPDATED MUSTANG DELIVERY TIMING ESTIMATE

Hopefully! Perhaps Ford is just clumsily trying to get the release lined up w/ the release of the press embargo tomorrow? Like Perhaps the gag comes off tomorrow and then cars start getting to dealerships Friday or Monday?! We can only hope! :D
  2. UPDATED MUSTANG DELIVERY TIMING ESTIMATE

. . . I'd say that's something of a smoking gun which shows there's apparently even some confusion inside of FoMoCo or at the very least some miscommunication between departments. If they're not even sure inside the company than it's gonna be hard to outwardly project a cohesive or accurate...
  3. UPDATED MUSTANG DELIVERY TIMING ESTIMATE

I think this is part of the problem and I'm not picking on Phlyguy, but I think a lot of people who ordered early had hoped that even though Ford was telling them it would be "fall" before they would see the car most folks hoped it would be as early in the fall as possible. Also rightly or...
  4. UPDATED MUSTANG DELIVERY TIMING ESTIMATE

Eh yeah, she's annoyed b/c she's self-admittedly one of the most impatient "instant gratification" people you'll ever meet AND she already turned in her 2013 Mustang on trade in to take advantage of the highest value so I suppose looking out in her driveway and seeing no Mustang at all has a...
  5. UPDATED MUSTANG DELIVERY TIMING ESTIMATE

I have a co-worker who ordered her car back in may as soon as the dealer order banks opened and she's been getting increasingly annoyed by what seem to be unexplained delays. I've been telling her for a while that Ford actually has two major launches going this fall w/ the Mustang and F150...
  6. Ford Racing Parts catalog for 2015 Mustang [Updated with Pricing]

Any idea on how many of these parts my also be compatible w/ the ecoboost cars? I would assume things that are ostensibly universal like the shifter ( given both cars use the MT82 6spd ), rear axles and brake upgrades will swap straight across?
  7. The first song you'll play?

I don't know if there are any BSG 2.0 fans out there but the Bear MeCreary re-make of Jimi Hendrix "All Along the Watch Tower" became iconic for fans of the show. I stumbled across this particular remix and ripped it to add to a workout mix. Later I found it to be an excellent driving song...
  8. The first song you'll play?

. . . well, since everyone else is posting video links, here's where I'm at: [ame] or this: [ame]
  9. The first song you'll play?

So dove-tailing on the "First Drive" thread, does anyone have a favorite "first song" you like to play to christen a new car? In particular a sporty type car? A buddy of mine and I have a little ritual where we drive most of the first day listening to the car in general and the exhaust note...
  10. Anyone actually odered a "base" car?

Fortunately in Houston, TX I don't have to worry about any of that, at the most it may get down to freezing for a handful of days all winter long. It would be nice to have the cooled seats though but I can live w/ the Recaros assuming the A/C works well!:D I've been searching the "Extended...
  11. Plans for First Drive?

I'm hoping to snag an ecoboost w/ PP & Recaros around the end of the year. It probably won't be day 1 but when I get it a buddy of mine and I are planning to take the 2015 and my '01 Cobra w/ irs suspension work up to the "three sisters" close to Austin and compare the cars.
  12. 2015 Mustang Hands on Review - Town and Country TV

Yeah, and I'm completely fine w/ that actually. It just gut under my skin that the guy in the video was so resolute about his definition of "American Sports Car" even daring people to call him on his "opinion vs facts" then proceded completely bungled the definition. I've seen sales people do...
  13. 2015 Mustang Hands on Review - Town and Country TV

Yeah, that's what I figured. It'd be kinda cool if they actually did that but I suppose the NTSB would have a fit.
  14. 2015 Mustang Hands on Review - Town and Country TV

. . . aaannnnndddd okay, I'll start the debate. At the 10:30 mark the commentator is incorrect. It's my understanding that a "sports car" is technically defined as a two-seat vehicle subsequently the only two true American sports cars are the Corvette and the Viper. Both of those vehicles...
  15. 2015 Mustang Hands on Review - Town and Country TV

So do the vertical streaks next to the headlights actually have that wavy pattern or is that just an artifact of the video frame rate vs the refresh rate of my monitor? Also anyone else think there's just waaay too much sidewall associated w/ a 18" wheel/tire comb?
  16. Anyone actually odered a "base" car?

Yep I've heard that as well which is why I want to actually sit in and test drive a car before ordering one. Nice find! How much searching effort did that take? From what I can see there aren't a lot of those cars sitting around.
  17. Anyone actually odered a "base" car?

Yeah, I decided to splurge and add the Recarros but given it's like a $1500 option I've kinda wondered if it's something I could do w/ out depending upon how supportive and comfortable the "standard" seats turn out to be?
  18. Anyone actually odered a "base" car?

Heh, my dream build is to swap a TT 5.0 Coyote into my '01 Cobra and rebuild the original modular 4v to a overbore 5.0 and use it as a basis for FF Daytona Coupe w/ T56 trans and '03 Cobra IRS. . . . I think I'll add A/C though 'cause I'm old and kind of a wus apparently.:lol...
  19. Anyone actually odered a "base" car?

Nah, what I'm talking about is the fact that on Ford's builder page you have an option between what's labeled as "ecoboost" and the "ecoboost premium" or the "GT" vs the "GT Premium". From what I've read around here and seen in other places, people have taken to calling the non-Premium version...
  20. Anyone actually odered a "base" car?

Yeah, you and I are kindred spirits. I'll be really curious to hear when your car gets delivered. I have a sneaking suspicion that these "base" type cars will mostly appeal to enthusiasts which is a low volume set and a stripped out car will carry a smaller margin so there's less incentive to...
