Yup, happens with my Jeep Grand Cherokee by design as well. To add to the conversation, the blind spot warning system can disable in the same manner if the sensors get blocked for any reason. As long as I have the Jeep, the Stang will never have to worry about that.

Just picked up my 2019 A10 on Monday and noticed the same thing the first night, doesn't light up, that's for sure. If it lit up but didn't indicate what gear you were in it would be just as useless IMO. I love the idea of swapping it out for a manual boot. Would look much tidier.
