That's because the 4 cyl turbo has more power available on the low end where as the V8 is more on the upper end. 0-60mph times the Focus is actually faster. 0-100mph they have identical times. So it means that 60-100mph the mustang gets there faster. On a track with lots of turns and bends...

Seems like the old Top Gear did the same test and had the same out come too. Focus took off faster but mustang would catch up and overtake soon. [ame]

The Grand Tour (New Top Gear) did a segment on Focus RS vs. Mustang GT too. On straights, the Focus RS takes off faster. However Mustang would catch up eventually and overtake it. But taken to their test track, the Focus actually beats the Mustang by about a second.
