Yeh my 770 install was quoted to cost $220. Which was 2 hours work at $110 each. But then they gave me a fairly good discount cos the guy who worked on it was my friend. Won't say how much but was pretty good. So yeh $500 is a blatant rip off.

Yeh absolutely, if it's not broken then don't fix it. If it's working there's no reason why you would want to change it. If you're buying a new one, then at least stay away from Sandisk since it seems like that's the one that's universally not recommended for dashcams for various reasons.
