The whispers I hear indicate a smoother, more subtle transition from the c pillar to the belt line. The same whispers indicated a lack of c-scoops/hockey sticks. Finished with the exhaust valance. God help me, I'm going to have to hack out the door handle in my beautifully smooth door.
Man, you guys are helpful. Mach1, you are observant, about the beltline, but all I did here to fix it was rotate my camera to better match. The beltline is accurate, but thanks a million for pointing out my camera rotation adjustment. I know my angle and rotation aren't exact, (rear wheelwell...
Trust me, Ive compensated for all of that as best I can. Obviously with no real rear reveal, that will be even more of a guess. But I have averaged the two really good side shots, one favoring the rear, making rear overhang look too big and the front overhang too small and another favoring the...
After a lot of finessing of the camera angle and lens focal length, I lined up the current model with the spy shot. I am shocked at how well it lines up. I adjusted the size of the wheels (they were too large) but you can see they don't line up because of the body roll. From this, i can confirm...
Feel free to post images at will. Bastardize my renders at will. I'm sure there are many versions out there, but I don't feel like trying to guess at what the fender vents look like in my version at this time.
This is a pretty wide angle lens render, I will check my rotoscopes, though. Thanks for the input. Here is an orthographic render with the 2005 as a comparison.
They aren't visible here, but I've started the mirrors and taillights. And I actually modeled that grille pony. The new spy pix show that at least the HIDs are located at the outside of the headlight bucket, and the DRLs look to be three maybe four rectangles surrounded by orange reflectors...
Less Photoshop this time. Lots of proportional upgrades. I used the other side view spy pic when I realize the one I was working from was biased to the front. the other is more straight on towards the rear, thus proving i needed a bigger rear overhang. Still have to make the exhaust valance, the...
I finally stitched the front to the back. Lots of important tweaks. Scaled it horizontally to match the current Mustang's width. Mine was obviously too wide, probably due to the lens parallax on the spy picture. I can't wait to flesh out the rear end. I need to stop for today, watch some...
Feel free. Looks like what I would do when I actually model them. I'm licking my wounds after losing 45 minutes of work making a nice rear wheel well. Dag. I've got to save more often.
I take whispers at face value. I tend to believe them. The whisperers like what I've made so far, but you only need to be off a little here and there and it may be correct, but not accurate, giving it a "can't put my finger on it" feeling. I am making progress, but for each step, I have to...
I'm adjusting the front door cut, thanks. I think the cladding slipped back on the front of the rear wheelwell. Move that back and add the flat surround, and I think it will look appropriate.
Not to worry, TT, I welcome all comments. I didn't view your comment as negative. I may not change the overhang very much after all. This view is slightly forward, so maybe a little. Maybe it looks like it needs more overhang because it has had so much overhang the last ten years that we are...
Yeah, I'm wrestling with that. That's what makes my side reveal so important. The wheelbase on the mustang hasn't changed. So I can use that as a guide for where the wheels go really easily. Most the greenhouse was revealed, so I have that as a guide. Like I said, I spent a good deal the day...
Again, most of the rear is hacked in Photoshop. The exhaust valance is especially poor. I still haven't adjusted the proportion of the taillight area. The front view is unretouched, so you can see what hasn't yet been modeled.
