  1. How to prep paint for clear bar?

Yes, however the installer will likely apply a stripping product to ensure the adhesives on the bra work properly, so any wax will be removed.
  2. Ebay Switchback LED lights review+video

Strange, must be my macbook for some reason. I am trying to source those T10's somewhere else as that particular seller won't ship to Canada, but good find on the switch backs.

  6. How to prep paint for clear bar?

A quality install shop will prep the paint for you. If that isn't the case, you will need to do an assessment as to the condition of the paint. You will need to determine if you have only minor paint marring, any heavily installed swirls from improper maintenance, or even worst, any deeper...
  7. Clay Bar on Black

Good to hear! Invest in a Porter Cable - very safe DA polisher and will save you so much hassle. It is basically impossible to damage your paint with it. It can be done obviously, but it is very user friendly and a perfect entry polisher that can be had for under $200.
  8. Clay Bar on Black

In order to know what to do, you need to know what kind of water spot you are dealing with. If it is a dried mineral deposit from hard water, or rain water that HAS NOT etched the paint, then a quick detailer and a cloth will be enough to fix the issue. If the water spot HAS etched the...
  9. Diode Dynamics Switchbacks back in stock

Yeah that is what I am going to do actually. For the amount of times I will actually use those lights, makes little difference.
  10. Avoiding Flat Spots

Don't put it on jack stands, this will put strain on your suspension. If you are really keen you could get these: http://www.raceramps.com/10inch-flatstoppers.aspx Honestly, unless you are storing for more than a year at a time, only a few months, don't worry about it. I agree on the...
  11. Diode Dynamics Switchbacks back in stock

AAAARGH. I have been waiting for these along with everyone else, but because of this shipping I don't want to do multiple orders. Of course, now the Vanity lights are out of stock so the wait continues until DD has them all ready to go.
  12. Failed DIY diffuser dip. What are my options

A full paints spray would likely be 300 or so. Anything can be wrapped, this is a very technical spot but a competent install shop could do it easily. Just dip it again, you could do it a few times over before you get to the total cost of a paint spray/wrap. That whole area is 1 can at the...
  13. Clay Bar on Black

Nearly all factory clear coats are incredibly thin, about the thickness of one or two post it notes. This isn't exclusive to the Mustang or Ford.
  14. 22Ple glass coating at its finest

For a new car - depending on the paint obviously - I really like a Menzerna 2500 followed by a 4500 - very good results in almost all scenarios. This is how that combo turned out on my GT-R. Flawless.
  15. Anyone use this Chemical Guys "Clay Mitt"?

This is the same basic idea as a few products from Nanoskin: http://www.autogeek.net/nanoskin-autoscrub-wash-mitt-medium-grade.html And their towel which is really great, but spendy. I will be getting a couple of these when I next run out of clay. They are cheaper in the long run but greater...
  16. 2015 Mustang GT Roush Phase 1 Supercharger Kit Install Video

Bill - why keep the K Brace if it is cut in half? It isn't bracing anything!
  17. Foam Cannon Cleaning Day

I love my foam cannon, and am really impressed with Honeydew Snowfoam. I like it so much I just purchased a bit 5L jug of it. Works really well.
  18. Kirkland Micro Fibre towels rating?

@davekro There are many factors, the content of the material 70/30, 80/20 for example, as well as GSM rating. Notwithstanding, the only test that matters for me is softness and the ability to work, long term, without marring the paint. I have tested hundreds of towels over the years, some...
  19. Kirkland Micro Fibre towels rating?

All of this is truth. Can't go wrong with any of these. The Kirkland ones are good for things that don't touch paint, interior, engine for example. They are complete shit in terms of paint-able work.
