My old GTO had a pair of 8's IB in the rear deck, they hit pretty hard.
I was going to replace stockers with Dayton 6.5 subs, but I'm still going to run a RF 10 in the trunk.
I had a 10 2ss/rs. I traded it for a truck. Then I wanted to trade the truck for another Camaro. Too expensive. I could buy a comparably optioned Mustang for $10k+ less, and I did. Even money, I would have bought another Camaro. Although, I really enjoy driving the S550. My old '10...
My 17 GT was a spur of the moment purchase. I crapped when I read the 18s were gonna be different. After first look , I relaxed. That being said, I would take the performance updgrades, and I would love the new display if just for digital speed. Maybe I'll trade up for a 19 drop top? As it...
The black bits vs silver bits really makes the look of the car for some colors. Look at grabbers with black bits and wheels vs ones with silver. Doesn't even look like the same car. Get black bits, PC the wheels, wrap the roof!!! Maybe I'll see it around...

So while a little dissapointed in my RF 6.5 mids, I did some more experimenting. I tried no 3.5, > low volume, bad. Tried no 6.5 > not really much difference. Then I went full trial and error mode and disconnected 6.5s from factory connection and hooked them up to the 3.5s. Wow!
So my...
What I learned this morning.
1. The 3.5s are doing the bulk of the musical work in the door.
2. As stated above, using the stock amps, just bass is going to 6.5.
3. The RF 6.5s don't help at all in the bass dept., but do play cleaner.
4. RFs not really worth the work. Not sure what...
I came from the Camaro world, I had a 10 SS2/RS. In those, the first thing you do is unhook center speaker. In the Mustang, it really sounds like it is doing all the work. I tried to find info for replacing 3.5s, but there is not too much out there.
Im running a SoundQubed 1200.2 pushing 2 12" Sundowns in my Tahoe. Good stuff.
If you don't hear the 6.5's, what are you hearing up front for highs? The 3.25 and tweeter? Are you still using the center speaker?
Personal preference. If you look at Zenclosures, they make front and back. Some say front way is tighter, and bouncing off back of trunk is more boomy. Front makes the trunk look cleaner, I'm going to do rear.

Maybe, I know I won't have my sub x'd over 80hz. I'll see when its installed. My car will be tuned for my listening preferences, I'm not chasing some flat analyzer line. I am currently running with stock 6.5s disconnected.
I'm replacing stock Shaker turd sub with 2 RF 10s in Zen box. I don't expect much low end from RF 6.5. What I do expect/hope is the speaker can handle whatever factory signal it gets without rattling and requiring me to turn the bass down on radio. If its strong, I may keep it, lose the...
