  1. Trending on /r/cars: 2019 Shelby GT500 to receive Ford's new N/A 7.0L V8 w/ DI

Yeah, it was time a year ago. At this point they're gonna really have to put out something amazing to impress. The longer they wait to put out just another SC V-8 the more of a let down it'll be. I mean cmon I can drive up to Brenspeed in North Texas and have a Roush TVS supercharger put on...
  2. Trending on /r/cars: 2019 Shelby GT500 to receive Ford's new N/A 7.0L V8 w/ DI

To me it just seems odd that they would wait this long to roll out a GT500 successor if all they were gonna do is put out a SC V8. I mean it's not like they haven't been putting them out since 2003. Now if they were gonna come out with a TT or a large N/A or use electric motors to power the...
  3. Ford Names New CEO, Jim Hackett, in Big Leadership Shakeup

Good maybe now someone will take the finger out of their arse and build a rear wheel drive competitor to Cadillac's sedans. Maybe something built on the mustang chassis on the Lincoln nameplate. Oh and maybe now they'll hurry up and start putting out the mustang special editions. :paddle: The...

That's right, now I remember a discussion on here a while back about that and how the ratings are based on the highest gvwr vehicle. Yeah I saw that 9000 rpm max input speed. :hail:
  5. Trending on /r/cars: 2019 Shelby GT500 to receive Ford's new N/A 7.0L V8 w/ DI

If this is what's going into the new halo stang, they're gonna need to beef it up some cuz a 664 lb/ft torque capacity ain't gonna cut it. Now if they were to put this in the GT350......:ford:

It would be cool if Ford could get Ford to bring back John Coletti. For those that haven't read it, I suggest you pick up a copy of Iron Fist, Lead Foot: John Coletti and Ford's Terminator.

Meanwhile, Dodge just gave the greenies a big ole american middle finger with the release of the Demon. Sad that FCA has more balls to produce a truly american style brash, unapologetic, in your face pavement pounder than Ford.

Guilty as charged! With no official info, our imagination is all we got to tide us over. The silence from Ford is deafening!

Or Ford could just produce a 3.5L V8 Ecoboost and satisfy both crowds. If it has to be a smaller engine for emissions just make a smaller V-8. By reducing the displacement you can also make it a FPC if you want to. It shouldn't have to be either/or. :frusty: I hate to sound like a broken...

    Very Nice!

Twin screw (or Roots?) supercharged 5.2L making over 808 hp through a super fast shifting 10 speed auto with huge carbon ceramic brakes and 315 tires on a lightened chassis using aluminum and/or carbon fiber to keep the weight down.

Looks like I see forward facing scoops in this spy pic like the GT500KR had. What say you?
  15. GT500 testing in Arizona

Ah ok I wasn't sure since I couldn't find a pic of an R from that same angle.
  16. 2019 GT500 Mule? Front Gills/Louvers

That's the first time I've seen an article state that it's definitely a V-8. All the articles I had read just said 7.0L but didn't specify how many cylinders. Thanks for posting this link TN!
  17. 2019 GT500 Mule? Front Gills/Louvers

    I hope you're right!
  18. GT500 testing in Arizona

Anyone else notice that the rear tires on the one with the GT350R spoiler stick out of the fenders? I can't tell from the pics, but there's only two things that cause that. Wider tire/wheel package and offset. If it's offset, could the new specialty car have wider rear hips like the Fisker...

God I hope you're right. A Boss 9 would be unreal!
