I saw that. If they want 5w-30 in it when it's being run hard, I'm tempted to just run that ALL the time. I had a claimed ford engineer tell me years ago over on SVTP to run 5w-30 in my 2011 5.0, which I did. All my oil reports for that motor always looked excellent.
Wondering if the...
So I've put a couple hundred miles on the car since I got it back, and so far, so good. Zero leaks. Hopefully mine was just a fluke and not many people get stuck dealing with this.
My engine was built on a Tuesday (21-Nov) and it had a leaky pan gasket. My car also rattles, but when I last had a chance to really chase it, it was louder on the passenger side and I couldn't hear it in the block with my scope.
I've since listened to a bunch of videos on youtube of people...
Man I wish, the last couple I got all had 80+ miles on them when I took ownership. My 11 was a DX and driven 70 miles or so, my 16 was also DX'd and driven 40+. My 18 had like 105, and had been around since November. Still, there wasn't a swirl in the paint to be found anywhere, so at least...
LOL, I daily mine so it sees rain, snow, salt...
Just think of it this way...it got rained on at the dealer so you'd have to do all that anyway.
If it makes you feel any better, while I have my car back, they didn't top the oil off completely. Looked on the dipstick like they shorted it...
And this was why I took my car where I did for my oil pan leak. I have friends that work there, that are friends with the tech that did my service. Helps with peace of mind.
I have not romped on it hard enough to say yet. What I can tell you is that from a DD perspective, the car is much nicer to drive. The clutch feels better, the throttle feels smoother, and the car just feels a little more sorted than before. The extra power is nice too, and so are the digital...
I don't have to press mine. I got in the car last night and looked down, and it was pulsing like the video. Either way, even if it doesn't pulse, it would make a nice finishing touch type mod to the 15-17's. We just need a part number.
LOL, Don't do it! Once you get your ears tuned into this rattle you cannot NOT hear it. I'm not convinced it's the engine though. I still think it some combo of the clutch/trans and possibly the DI.
So I took mine out again this evening to play with it. I haven't found a camera setup that does a good job capturing the noise, but I can definitely change the pitch of what I hear inside with the shifter. So whatever it is, it's carrying into the cabin via the shift linkage.
I'll try to find...
I run my fogs all the time also, but I live in the middle of nowhere. I like having them on because 90%+ of my driving is on 2 lane wooded back roads with little traffic. When I don't have the extra spread of my high beams, it's nice to have the sides of the road lit where I can more easily...
