To everything else, I say different day, different driver. The time comparisons are meaningless in this case. I do not criticize the mustang in any way. I believe the GT is a great performer. I think the SS will edge it out in 1/4 mile in stock form and possible edge out the GTPP around the...
I don't know for sure that they tested the cars on the same day. Maybe they didn't. I can't find a motortrend 15' or 16' Mustang GT dyno. Anywhere. Anybody send the link. I want to see if the stangs #s are inflated or right on point. Trying to diagnose this dyno from 2000 miles away is difficult...
I did some google searching but didn't find the article where the GT was dynod on the same as the SS. It boggles my mind that you compare dyno numbers of different cars taken on different dynos in different years and conclude that the difference in output must mean the car is a ringer.
Actually multiple people tried to get into it but you won't address there points. Different dynos. End of story you lose this one. Z28 is sketchy, you have a case there. Nothing out of line with the SS numbers.
The thing is there is a difference between the price that a manufacturer charges and the corresponding cost of these components. You're assuming that removing these options would result in a $2500 price increase because that's what the mustang's PP is. I'm saying that the manufacturers costs...
The additional cooling compared to the mustang may just be necessary for the SS. The brakes are brembos but are still small and should and will be larger for the future performance pack. The tires are larger than base GT but smaller than GTPP. As for tuning, there's no reason to think it's tuned...
The base SS isn't exactly already PP. as far as rwd, v8 cars go the SS brakes and tires aren't sufficient to say it comes with a PP.
As far as leaving money on the table by not offering a more basic base SS, I'm sure they did aN extremely in depth business case. They likely determined that...
Just to be clear, I think what you're saying is: readings in gears lower(numerically higher) than 1:1 will put out readings higher that actual engine output because of the TQ multiplication of the gears. Then once the correction factor(dividing by the trans gear) brings the reading closer to the...
My math might be off but should'nt a 4th gear pull net 32% higher hp and TQ? Taking the 11 GT for example if it has 412hp at the crank it should dyno about 355. If done in 4th and not calibrated it should have 32% increase for a total of about 465. A pull of 390 to me just shows that dynos...
Im not saying it's just the camaro/gtpp dyno that is reading high. If the Vettes is so efficient maybe it should dyno higher than 14% which you just stated most setups would do. Maybe it's both. Maybe the vette dyno'd a little low and the camaro dyno'd a little high. There so much variance in...
