Perhaps it will, all signs I've seen do not point to it being a full replacement of the RWD platform. Agree with everything else you mention, I still think the 500 will be sub 4,000lbs and horsepower will be fine wherever it lands. Regardless an R/KR will land in my garage sometime next year...
I referred to ADM on the 500 not the c8, stating potential ADM on the c8 could widen the pricepoint disparity and cross shopping. I'm not big on trusting dealers but I know my buddies relationship with his dealer and the volume they buy...monthly.
If Chevy drops the front engine platform all...
My comment was more directed at Vettes, I kicked tires years ago at three East Bay dealers and had discounts ranging from 5k to 25k in minutes, still couldn't get me in a Vette. Wouldn't never even inquire about a Camaro.
Not a chance. Adding to this, perhaps the c8 becomes a car Chevy dealers hold out for ADM even further pricing it out of market. I'm not a Vette guy but my good buddy and his dad own/have owned north of 30 Vettes including every new model released since the mid 90s. Their dealer is saying it...
The ME (possible) Vette won't be anywhere near the price point of the 500. Of course since Chevy has to discount cars so much it could get in the ballpark in the CA ADM areas.
But in your own words you've stated it will weight this and it will go xxxx fast. Everyone wants to know what it's going to weight and how fast it's going to be, clearly it's not the car for you regardless. Go order a 350 and enjoy it.
Minus the weight which is unconfirmed it's no where near less than expected. Some were looking for mid to high 700s but yet again there is no official number so how can it be less than expected?
If you don't like heavy cars you're clearly shopping in the wrong category. Perhaps a Civic R or...
Have you seen the discounts you can get on Vettes, zo6 included?!
Those discounts plus Shelby ADM put them in the same price point as the higher end vets. Now if Ford would do something to control ADM then you have some price separation.
I saw that guys steam video, even though I'm a detail guru that's to far for me. Like someone else said...Racecar. I am going to try some air next time and see what that does.
I used sonax on the R for the first time hoping it would clean the barrels some but no luck. The painted portion cleans with soap and water easily (way easier than the Non R wheels!) Any ideas for the ceramic coating?
I just ran my buddies zo6 a couple weeks ago and I've seen it run at the track a couple times. Without prep/tires and good air it's not a 10sec car. His and others usually trap in the 126 to 129. On the street he didn't pull my 16’ 350 anywhere near what I expected. Add 200+ HP to a 350 and 250...
Mid 3s and high 10s and not beat a hellcat or zo6?
I guess you've never ran or seen those cars run. If the 500 puts down those numbers it will beat both or be a driver's race everytime
If I recall correctly that same care also had a video and it was clearly not manually shifted which led everyone to speculate all the mules have shift knobs as part of the camo.
Minus meet ups I've probably seen 7 or so others in the wild...onle one in 6 weeks in TX. That's pretty few for pushing 3 years of them on the streets.hell I've seen 3 lambos and 4 Ferraris in that same 6 weeks.
I ran my buddies z06 from about 40 and he barely put 3 cars on me up to about 120. His response...."damn what would that do with some boost"
My response "lol what a POS"
If they keep the price real close to 350 and the weight goes up by 150 to 200lbs it won't be a fail as it will be under 4k. Anything pushing it over 4k is a complete fail as the would have done nothing to reduce weight. A decent set of wheels alone could offset somewhere between 25 to 45% of the...
Then Ford will have massively failed. You can supercharge a 350 and get way under 4k especially if you lighten up a few areas Ford themselves could have done better.
Both dealers I'm in line with tend to agree as well, if it's over 4k the very small ADM agreement goes out and it's a sticker order.
