I've had a number of BMW from the v8 to the twin turbo six and have had excellent reliability. Plenty of stories and experiences out there, but that's the same for all brands. My last N54 turbo car was very reliable, and that much more expensive to mod than my current mustang. I drove that car...
What reasons would trump getting out of the direct path of one of the worst predicted hurricanes in recorded history?
If you do stay, which it sounds as though you are, I wish you the best of luck. Stay safe.
That's what it's looking like to me as well, but nothing wrong with it. Fuel, conditions, modification are always changing so it would be nice to monitor the logs and have the ability to make the changes myself. Just not as familiar with the available software/hardware that the self tuners are...
I'm rather new to this platform, but it doesn't seem like many tune their own cars, but rather just load a tune. Kind of surprised most seem to use off the shelf tunes rather than dialing it in themselves. Most of the info I can find is Related to the brand, rather than the logs and specific...
The dealer may actually do a better job - the factory paint leaves a lot to be desired, in my opinion. There are tons of runs/drips that harden around corners of trim or panels; probably has as much to do with the poor fitment of panels and trim pieces.
First, Thanks for your service! Not sure regarding the battery coverage but would highly recommend some sort of battery "maintainer" while being unused.
Lots of modern electronics can cause slight draws and it will be far better for the life of the battery. Why the reluctance?
Damn near wrote the same thing, but backed out of the discussion. I think it's great to dig in and learn, it's how how I learned to tune my first car (different platform). There's no harm in taking interest and learning. Poking around to understand something is different than uploading it to...
Most of what we see are "canned" tunes that are known to be safe over a wide range of vehicles. Most of the "custom" tunes are tweaks of the original tune based on interpretation of the data logging of the specific engine parameters.
Self tuning can "easily" be done if you understand what you...
It's basically a group of tables that allow you to adjust/optimize the range of values. A tune can adjust the values of a single table or hundreds of tables. Many tables are interdependent on multiple tables so it's best to know what you are doing to have things work well or stay within safe...
Are there any options available for a different emergency/hand brake? I hate the way it looks and feels. Seems too big and awkward and feels cheap and doesn't feel like it stays Althea way down when disengaged... I almost would have preferred an electronic push button brake that's small and...
You need to have a data logger hooked up the vehicle. The original post was from a dyno, but you can also log using tuning devices that plug into your OBD port that pulls the info from all of the cars sensors.
