I bought the 3.0 passenger side free floating. The hoses are fairly stiff, so leaving it hanging really isn't that big of a deal, but for good measure, I used a zip tie and secured it to another hose. It's not going anywhere and was a cake install.
I don't expect it to work for the rattle. Too many examples of it working for the tick. Sorry it didn't work for you, but at worst, it's a 20 dollar experiment that fails. Juice is worth the squeeze.
You may want to look at Roush. I have the non-active performance exhaust which comes with baffle plates on the inside pipes. I removed them and the pops began. Not a ton, mainly letting off the throttle entirely from high RPM. But I like it. Everything is stock from the axles forward...
I’ll check it out but I’ve got both the tick and the rattle. Both the rattle and what I believe is normal fuel injector noise is consistent. Same pace. Rattle is 2-3k rpm. Fuel injectors I hear at idle. The tick is inconsistently spaced. Almost like a hot exhaust settling while it cools. But...
I just treat it like I still live in Michigan and it's February. Even though I now live in Southern Indiana and it's early September. Let it warm up and I don't notice it that much. Cold start and go, and oh yeah... that's when I really hear/feel it.
I haven't had any "malfunctions" so to speak, but it seems like in Normal mode you've really got to floor it to get it to drop enough gears to get good acceleration. It feels rather lazy, not like you've got 460 ponies at your disposal if you just give it some throttle. I do have some hard...
Praying I don't have to go back to the Japanese to get the reliability factor. RC-F is about all I can afford that is close to my Roush in badassness (it's a word, look it up...) and that would be a used one, likely out of bumper to bumper warranty. I wouldn't have problems, but I would have...
Same for me when I pulled the baffles out of my Roush non active exhaust. It got a lot louder on cold start and under hard acceleration. But the wife liked it so all is well.
Hmmm. I’ve seen everything go red which was a cool idea btw but haven't felt a cutout. Probably just shifting in time and like you said, not hitting redline in 6th much on the street. By 5th gear I’m letting off or taking a curve at a little less speed.
Are you saying that in manual mode, using paddles you can only get to 6,800 before cut out?? I've taken mine through the gears that way and do not recall it cutting out that soon, although I don't really push it past 7K much, so it's possible I shifted prior to that. With it in normal mode, it...
Today I did not have time to warm up the engine. I had to pull out of the garage and go because I was on a surprise timeline to meet someone. I did not get on it, but I did put it in sport mode so I could hold the RPM range between 2 and 3K. The rattle was there for sure. The closer to 2K...
