  1. S550 Chassis School

Mr. Pill has a point. Looking at the ATS chassis, it does not look like the front cradle as is has enough support for a 6.2L V8, and since not much else could be done to the chassis, the only way to support the V8 is to add more reinforcement to the front frame which will only add more weight...

Hopefully they won't compromise of the structural integrity of the car from the weight saving. I drove a BMW 328i and that thing feels like solid metal ... figuratively. BMW really knows how to build a body shell. By the way can someone educate me on the S&Y braces vs torque box? Let me see...
  3. Who has seen the 2015 Mustang in person? Thoughts/impressions?

A wide body kit can be expensive even in a minor form.
  4. Who has seen the 2015 Mustang in person? Thoughts/impressions?

I mean most people can purchase the base V6 and all you need is a set of good coilovers and proper offset wheels to fill out the wheel gaps and that is probably all you need. The basic design is so good that you don't need to do much to make it look good.

I knew that but I had to travel to Seattle next weekend.
  6. Rumor: Ford to launch Shelby GT350 model in 2016, Mach 1 returning in 2017

I really hope Ford will price the GT350 in around 50K. I mean look at the C7 Z06. If the GT350 will be in the same price range as the Z06, I doubt it will have much sales success.
  7. COMPETITION ORANGE S550 MUSTANG Thread

Can anyone guess how the front of the engine aligned with the front wheel center line? I wish someone would take a picture that can clearly shows this.
  8. 2015 Mustang Appearances

Anyone knows if the Mustang will be at Car&Coffee in Irvine, SoCal this weekend?
  9. S550 Chassis School

Would someone high-light where the S and Y braces in those pics?
  10. S550 Chassis School

That's it. Like the shape of an egg. Each member supports the other making a tight structure. But I hope that is true. Can't wait to see the final weight figure. But we have to be realistic. I'd say a reasonable weight for the GT would be 3550 and about 3450 for the EB.
  11. S550 Chassis School

I believe here in the US the vehicle weight includes a full tank of gas and a driver, whereas in EU the gas tank and driver are not included. Don't know.
  12. Rumor: Ford to launch Shelby GT350 model in 2016, Mach 1 returning in 2017

That would bring the cost to a level that I am not sure most people would consider. If the GT350 will cost around 75K, that would put it in the same price category as the C7 Z06, and to be honest, I would probably go for the Z06. I think Ford probably knows that and will price that GT350 at...
  13. Rumor: Ford to launch Shelby GT350 model in 2016, Mach 1 returning in 2017

The BRZ starting price is about 25K - 27K. I think the Mustang EB will probably in the same neighborhood. The GT will be a few grands more. IMHO.
  14. 2015 Mustang will be displayed at Top of the Empire State Building...again

I didn't know the building has a pretty pointed top which making maneuvering a helicopter up there can be tricky.
  15. 2015 Mustang will be displayed at Top of the Empire State Building...again

Why couldn't they just use a helicopter and drop it on top of the building?
  16. INGOT SILVER S550 MUSTANG Thread

The length may be the same but overall height is quite a bit lower especially the hood height.
  17. First Look Inside Next-Gen GT350 Mustang (S550) Prototype!

It will be interesting to see if the GT350 will have rear-mounted transmission.
  18. Rumor: Ford to launch Shelby GT350 model in 2016, Mach 1 returning in 2017

I am with those who think the GT350 should be an affordable track car. If it's going to cost around 75K, then either the C7 or C7 Z06 are better alternatives. If Ford just going to take the basic GT, add a 5.2L 550hp, upgrade brakes and suspensions, a few carbon fiber components to bring the...
